We used this for a night on our way from Milan Malpensa to Lake Como as we were arriving quite late and did not want to drive far. My husband and I stayed at the Palace Grand Hotel in August 2008 for 4 nights and we had a lovely time. The rooms are really nicely renovated. Not all the TV Channels worked but who is in Italy for watching TV anyways. The hotel itself is older but not bad. The staff was very nice and did their job.... more

What a bizarre place, it's almost like a horror movie set in real life! The winding driveway up the hill, the oddly tall narrow building at the top surrounded by trees and tennis court...... Stayed at the Palace from the 14th through to the 17th July...great location on the hill above Varese and centrally located for Lakes Maggiore and Lugano.
