Villa has very good location: 200 m from citta centro, all shops and cafes, about 15 minutes from the Isola and beach ( even if you have very very slowly walk to it) Besides, if you became boring of fantastic Tropea- 600 hundred metres upper villa- and you will have a train to any city on the coast and every... I booked a reservation at this hotel directly through their website and paid a 15% deposit on 2 rooms. 30 days prior to my arrival, I requested a refund of the deposit given the unfavorable reviews I found of the hotel on sites such as Trip Advisor. Unfortunately the hotel refuses to refund my deposit even though I booked their... More

Recently stayed at this hotel. For a four star hotel they really do need to improve their standards. The staff should try and smile once in a while and be friendly. The water system needs to be fixed. Whilst having a shower the water kept going either boiling hot or icy cold, which made it difficult to have a shower.... More

We needed 2 rooms last minute mid July and Tropea was pretty well booked...we had 2 hotels to choose from and this being more expensive with better reviews we went with Antica. The hotel is in the top end of the Main Street ...close to parking...not that the hotel provided any. We had to take a deluxe room (30€ dearer)... More

What a dump. Unless you are into backpacking. Being in our fifties and looking for a certain level of comfort, we are not! The shower deserves its own page. It was the tiniest shower in the world. Once you closed the doors you could not lift your arms to shampoo your hair with braking an elbow. Then when you are... More

Recently spent 4 days in Tropea at Villa Antica and was very pleased with the size of the two rooms we booked. Staff were very helpful especially manager Salvatore who assisted us with many of our requests. Breakfast was good and better than most Italian breakfasts in most hotels that I have been too. I would recommend this hotel if... More

Pros: GREAT location, clean, helpful staff, large rooms and lots of charm Cons: wifi didn't work in the first room they gave us but they moved us to another room with no problem but even then, the wifi reception was dodgy (it works fine in the common areas and they will also let you use their computer & printer if... Stayed here as part of an organised tour. I really enjoyed it. Breakfast from 7:30-10:30 meant I could sleep in or start early. Great wifi in common areas & worked most of the time in the room. A short walk to the shops & restaurants in the historical centre of Tropea. Information on tours & hire cars in reception. A... More

We were here last fall and were very happy with our stay. Tropea is an interesting little town on a point in Calabria. The staff at the hotel were very helpful.
