After having sampled Villa Paola last year our visit was like returning "home". This is a beautiful villa in a spectacular position in beautiful Tropea. With just 7 rooms its easy to feel secluded in your own special intimate space. The rooms are classy and the grounds are beautifully manicured. You find yourself imagining how peaceful the nuns felt over... More

This has to be one of the most beautiful B&Bs. It is a former monastery, hence the amazing church that is attached from the outside. The owner spent a fortune restoring it to glory and did an amazing job. The gardens are immaculate, and we were told that many of the plants were those remaining from when is was a... More

Tropea is not what I would call the best of Italian environments and my wife was a little concerned when we could not find the hotel but once we got there which an amazing place. so you are a couple of do not really want tons of tourists around and like your own company but also like a bit of... Villa Paola is without question one of the prettiest places you could stay in. We had the whole swimming pool and gardens to ourself as nobody else used it during the day. The area is lovely and there is an honesty bar ... but no ability for a lovely glass of vino if you wanted it. Evenutally as I could... More

Fabulous location opposite town and facing the blue Tyrrhenian sea. The villa/hotel is a beautiful former monastery with adjacent Church, tucked away on the hill facing Tropea; it has been splendidly refurbished with great good taste and attention to design. There are only about 7 rooms, making for a select clientele, and it is surrounded by luxuriant gardens replete with many areas... Villa Paola is without question one of the prettiest hotels we have ever stayed in. Everything about it is aesthetically pleasing, so much so that we were almost afraid to touch anything. Our four nights there were very quiet and relaxing, and the staff is helpful. I gave it three stars, however, because my husband and I both felt that... More

We will not come back. Too expensive, and we paid like 30 Euros per day to bring with us our dog and there was not even a bowl of water around. Structure is nice, so is the landscape and staff is friendly but this is not the place to stay if you don't want the owner coming every morning to... More

Beautiful, scenic, clean, luxurious, and very welcoming! A very relaxing place to stay with beautifully maintained grounds. Plenty of spaces to explore, read, relax. Breakfasts, which were included, were delicious and fresh everyday. They appear to have their own hens for fresh eggs, tomatoes, etc. The swimming pool was lovely with sea views and views of Port Tropea. The surrounding... More

We stayed at Villa Paola for 7 nights as part of a two week trip to Italy and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We chose this hotel due to the small number of rooms, the location and the stunning pictures which were on the website and we are glad we did. For the first three nights of our stay we were... More
