We stayed here one night and should have stayed longer. We had the top suite in the Residenza il Duomo and it was like have the top of the hotel to yourself. Beautifully decorated, extremely clean and within walking distance to beach (which was warm and very clear). Roberto the owner is very personable and obliging. Recommended a local restaurant... Location is first rate, right by the cathedral. Rooms are very modern in a nice traditional building, with aircon and decent bathrooms. Breakfast is no better than average but breakfast in Italy doesn't seem up to much generally. Nice receptionist in afternoons/evenings. Drawbacks - the stairs up to it and the price, but you can pay as much or more... More

Beautiful rooms in a great location - centre of Tropea. Breakfast on the terrace was very pretty but food and service itself could be better. Stunning traditional building sympathetically converted. Friendly, helpful staff. I doubt there is a better hotel in Tropea.

Very good location seals it for this hotel which also has apartments. It is up a few flights of stairs and therefore inappropriate for anyone with mobility issues. The staff are very friendly, the breakfast is a good spread and the view from the breakfast balcony is stunning. We spent four nights here and loved it!

This hotel was average. It was kind of dark and has lots of stairs to get up to it. The staff was very nice and friendly though. The room was clean and the bathroom was nice size. One problem was that every morning we were woken up by the pigeons outside of the window at sunrise. Not the best when... More

I traveled alone and stayed in this hotel for three nights. I have seen better hotels than this, but probably few hotels for 42.5 Euro per night (ok, for a single person and out of season, but still..) are that good. The location is excellent - in the heart of the old city, and it was quiet at least in... More

This hotel is wonderful. Situated in a quiet lane near the cathedral. Beautiful comfortable rooms. Excellent value. The breakfast terrace has fabulous views and the breakfast was very good . Only small minus point is one which I would say to every Italian hotel I have ever stayed in. It puzzles me that in a country where oranges are grown... More

If it wasn't for Francesca & Alessandro, this place would get 1 star. Francesca was lovely & helpful & Alessandro made sure we were happy, otherwise nothing else nice to say. The other staff that was at front desk in the morning, she showed no care & should not work in hospitality. The room was not cleaned properly & had... More

In less than 24 hours we given notice that the apartment we had rented for 7 nights would not be available due to problems, (later found out these problems are on going and well known in the community). We were offered another apartment, but not comparable and without the advertised wifi ( in all areas) and then just a plain... More

We stayed in the apartment with a sea view and it was lovely - on the second floor overlooking the harbour on one side and mountains on another. It was clean and spacious (we were a party of 5 adults). I had a few problems with the local trains and printing tickets but the receptionist Francesca and Silvana were very... More
