A Bed and Breakfast situated in a picturesque little alley in Tropea’s historical centre opened after a careful renovation of a historical building thanks to its owner’s enthusiasm and passion for architecture, history and antiques. It offers an exclusive, refined and familiar atmosphere. The owner of this B and B, whose ancestors used to live here, has tried to preserve the memories, antiques and anecdotes of a past world, and thus explaining the choice of the name Donnaciccina. Ciccina was a lady, single by choice, determined, efficient and cunning like a fox and who was an institution in Tropea.

Donnaciccina is perfect in every way. Historic, cozy, clean, happy and owner operated. Centrally located and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, bank, Farmacia, market, beach, church, train station (downhill to hotel. Need ape’ for ride back since uphill that way) Anuncia breakfast is delicious. She bakes the cakes herself and features daily fruit picked from their own trees! Gloria is professional, attentive and an amazing point of contact for your entire stay. Umberto was my guardian angel and his dear mother comes by every morning to greet everyone. LOTS of steep steps in this hotel. The rooms are VERY clean and spacious. I miss them all so much. Coming back as soon as I can.

What a lovely, charming place. The old stone structure has been beautifully adapted into a small hotel. But the charm is further enhanced by the graceful and generous host, Umberto, who treats guests as personal guests in his home! We loved our stay with Umberto.

The place is very quaint, perfectly located in the heart of the tourist district amongst restaurants. Clean with great atmosphere. I highly recommend this place. The staff was absolutely wonderful, helpful and kind. The rooms were eclectic but clean and updated. We had access to an upstairs balcony with a bit of a view. Air conditioning was nice. Quiet and peaceful.

Finding it initially is a little bit difficult. It's in a pedestrian only zone which is fine - so the taxi can't bring you there. But Google Maps was of little help with the alleyways. Once you know exactly where it is and how the alleyways lineup, it's easy.

We are from Montreal, Canada and we have returned to this bed and breakfast for 6 years now, I am also a picky traveler. Umberto is just amazing, we feel like we are home. Especially with covid, this place is sooo clean and well kept. All the sanitary items are in place. Its location is so central, the room is awesome! Ask for the aphrodite room, so spacious and just so romantic! Breakfast, location and pricing is the best you can find! If you stay in Tropea, dont look elsewhere!

I wish this website had the possibility to give 6 stars!
What a night did we have here! Umberto is the nicest Italian we ever met.
He helped us with everything we asked. From hotels in Tropea to Bergamot plantations in Reggio Calabria. He made sure everything was perfect in our room and even offered us a glass in the bar when we arrived, to settle down.
Umberto, if your read this : thank you a thousand times for everything you've done!
Christophe is still on cloud 9! Hope to see you soon

Had the pleasure of staying here for two weeks. Lovely room up in the roof of this old town building. More like a duplex apartment. Great continental breakfast. Situated right off the Main Street . But what makes the place, is the wonderfully helpful staff. From the owner, support staff (D******) to the room staff. All lovely. The owner sent us home with enough nduja to last until Christmas. Highly recommended!

This was the perfect little stopover hotel on our 1500 mile drive around Italy. The charms of Tropea, the nice owner, Umberto, and his awesome staff made our stay wonderful (English is spoken in the hotel easily, but they enjoy trying to help you with your Italian). They were so genuinely friendly. The room had the best shower I’ve had in a hotel in years. The location is two quick turns off the main drag, so you don’t hear the crazy partying all night, but it is only 50ft away. The breakfast was generous and tasty. We tried to stay an extra night, but the rooms were full. Parking is a couple blocks away, but if you are brave enough to navigate the charming streets and are handy with a map, you can drop your bags. Just down the perilous old town steps are public and private beaches and the port. The view from our room was perfect. Seriously, book more than one night or you will leave with a broken heart.

I'm not sure of the distance between the two since we drove (easy drive). But like the other person said, roads are uneven so take that into consideration
