An excellent place to stay since the hotel faces the harbour and is close to the beach and key travel agencies, such as Il Volcano a Piedi and the boat tour stalls. Rooms are very clean and comfortable, with the main downside being the price, i.e. 80euro per person/night. I woke up late for breakfast so I had to pay... More

This is an ideal landing spot if you are to visit Stromboli. Not the fanciest hotel but this has more substance over style and was perfect for us on our stay on the island. It is located less than 200 metres from the Hydrofoil port and within a 5 minute walk of the main Piazza it is easily the best... More

I stayed here for one night to make the trek up the volcano. You can see the hotel as soon as you depart the boat so it makes for a great landing spot. The check-in was easy and they offered a drink at the outdoor bar but unfortunately I didn't have the time to take them up on it. My... More

The location is perfect for arriving by ferry and for early departure and also for trekking The service was very good and friendly, and the hotel very clean Breakfast was varied, fresh & delicious and a special effort is made to serve cappucino and croissants the guests who have to leave early (before official breakfast) on the terrace which is... The hotel is a short walk from the ferry port which is brilliant after the overnight ferry when you are feeling a bit jaded. The staff are friendly and helpful although make sure you have some Italian/Spanish/French as English was a little limited although that didn't impact our stay. We were given pastries and juice and our luggage was stored... More

Look - if you go to a tiny remote volcano you shouldn't expect 5* city hotel facilities. There is enough of a challenge to get water, let alone "spas and Turkish baths". I visited Stromboli in 1969 and there were no facilities on the island at all - no dock, no ferry, no mains electricity - and a population of... More

The hotel advertises it has a thermal pool and Turkish bath. However it is only available between 4pm and 5pm and you need to book to use it by 1245. If you intend to climb to top of the volcano (which is highly recommended) and are only staying one night then the thermal spring is not available to you. From... More

Stayed for one night to do hike up the volcano. Staff were rude and unhelpful on multiple accounts. When the coffee ran out at breakfast and 5 or 6 people requested if it could be refilled the girl was very dismissive and demonstrated for each person that small drips could still come out of the container and so she wouldn't... The hotel was plain, but clean. Don't expect any amenities and beware the rooms are small and beds uncomfortable. I was only there for one night before hiking the volcano. I would request a room overlooking the water. The location was good and an easy walk from the ferry.

Room was average, bathroom small with a tiny old shower. The staff were unhelpful and not very pleasant. Oddly we weren't allowed to drink whilst sitting on the sofas which seemed ridiculous. It was over priced for the island. If travelling during tourist season I would advise not booking before arrival. When we arrived in the port there was a... More

An authentic Sicilian home-from-home overlooking the crystal clear sea of the island's Aeolian archipelago: this is Hotel Ossidiana. With a beautiful location directly on the beach of Stromboli, the hotel boasts magnificent views of the sea, the volcano, and the ancient fishing village of Scari. The bedrooms of this Mediterranean retreat, some of which have their own private terrace, are simply furnished using natural wood and soft colored drapes. Guests are unlikely to forget the fabulous views of the sea and the Volcano, visible from their room at Hotel Ossidiana. Taking pride of place in the peaceful internal court yard, the hotels thermal bath with waterfall, has been built using local lava stones. Heated by the constant underground volcanic activity, the water in the small pool reaches a temperature of 39°. Other spa facilities at guests disposal include a Turkish bath and thermal showers. Hotel Ossidiana is the perfect Sicilian seaside hotel. The beaches of Scari and Ficogrande, with its black volcanic sand, are just a few steps away. A short boat ride takes guests to the enchanting little village of Ginostra from where to admire a spectacular view of the Aeolian islands, Mount Etna and the coast of Calabria. Hotel Ossidiana is the ideal base for those wishing to explore the volcano and witness the eruptions of lava, which often light up the night skies. ... more   less
