This is an amazing modernist / art deco style hotel right at the top of Spoleto, so easy to access the city but also with incredible views of the Monteluco hills. It's so rare to find a hotel like this now, with wonderful considerate staff, a real retro, old world feel (in a good way), in a city but with... More

The best part is the location near the famous bridge. This is a quaint, lovely old hotel with friendly staff, clean room and wonderful views. Just a short walk to all the sights but be prepared for uphill walking, though there is an escalator which spans the town. Good breakfast, loved our stay.

My husband and I stayed at this amazing hotel perched on the edge of the mountain at the top center of Spoleto for several nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Great rooms, vintage 1950's decor (very Frank Sinatra "rat pack" style. Lovely lovely expansive views. Easy walking distance to the heart of town and sights. Great breakfast. Be cautioned... More

Yes, this is an old hotel with some ill fitting windows, narrow and unexpected steps, but those are small complaints next to the plusses - a gorgeous location with wonderful views. The beds were a wee bit hard for our aging bodies; the heating sporadic as the weather turned cold and the single pane windows fogged up every morning just... More

The hotel is slightly run-down, but in a nice, charming kind of way. Very intimate ambience, could be the setting of a '60 / '70 movie. My room was not spacious but then again it was also the cheapest, and the view on the Spoleto bridge was more than enough to offset this. But the real reason to choose this... More

Who wouldn’t fall in love with this beautifully designed and appointed hotel stretched like a sleek cat along the cliff at the top of Spoleto, giving every room a spectacular view of the Roman Aqueduct and the gorge? I felt like a luminary sinking into the deep leather couches where artists, composers, writers and style-makers talked and drank late into... More

Expectations are important for this hotel. It has one of the most amazing views and locations you can imagine, even for Spoleto. We had a "superior room", with floor to ceiling windows looking over the valley and ancient bridge. Despite being in the center of town at the foot of the fortress it was totally quiet, like waking up in... More

Hotel with an interesting history. We were the only guests for two nights,it felt a little bit like royalty. It has seen better and more happier times ,but was still well worth it for the spectacular views, not to mention breakfast on the terrace. The nearby cafe was a most pleasant spot to enjoy a few drinks before strolling down to one of the... There is much to like about this former villa converted to a hotel in the mid 1960's. The room we had was spacious, spotlessly clean, had a very large bathroom, a comfortable bed and the most spectacular view. Granted there are some obvious signs of aging, the shower is hand held and there are steps that you need to negotiate... More

We stayed four nights. For a "four star hotel", there is no air-conditioning and no lift or elevator. I didn't mind this. However, it was 68 steps down (and up!) from our room at the top to the breakfast room and terrace at the bottom, so people with mobility problems should bear that in mind. Our "standard" room had an... More
