The angular "bay window" that looks out over the bridge of Spoleto was so enthralling on a rainy winter day that I just made myself comfortable with pillows and a book and a camera and spent the morning there instead of going outside and braving the elements. Good thing I didn't have any time limit for visiting such a beautiful... More

We agree with most of the other TA reviews. A lovely classic hotel in long-term family ownership which is perfectly situated for views and for exploring the beautiful town. We had seen the hotel on a day trip to Spoleto 2 years ago and decided then we had to find an opportunity to stay there and we are very glad... More

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Gattapone while visiting Spoleto. Everything about the hotel was wonderful: the location, the friendly staff, the rooms and the most incredible views of the aqueduct. It was a perfect place from which to explore Spoleto. We are already planning our return visit. The signs in the city directing you to the hotel are... More

One could not ask for a more dramatic view of the aqueduct or the surrounding hillsides. Kind staff, beautiful patio for breakfast. Ineffective air conditioning, which only is an issue in summer. The hotel is at the TOP of the town, so be prepared for lots of uphill walking. it's well worth it

This is not a hotel - this is like coming home to Grandma for Christmas. An old, charming house. Worn but well kept. Ancient furniture and squeeking doors. An atmosphere romantic as few blessed with an absolutely unrivalled view of the historic aqueduct. Delicious Italian breakfast in the little vineyard crowned the stay. This was one of our absolutely best... More

This is an amazing modernist / art deco style hotel right at the top of Spoleto, so easy to access the city but also with incredible views of the Monteluco hills. It's so rare to find a hotel like this now, with wonderful considerate staff, a real retro, old world feel (in a good way), in a city but with... More

The best part is the location near the famous bridge. This is a quaint, lovely old hotel with friendly staff, clean room and wonderful views. Just a short walk to all the sights but be prepared for uphill walking, though there is an escalator which spans the town. Good breakfast, loved our stay.

My husband and I stayed at this amazing hotel perched on the edge of the mountain at the top center of Spoleto for several nights. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Great rooms, vintage 1950's decor (very Frank Sinatra "rat pack" style. Lovely lovely expansive views. Easy walking distance to the heart of town and sights. Great breakfast. Be cautioned... More

Yes, this is an old hotel with some ill fitting windows, narrow and unexpected steps, but those are small complaints next to the plusses - a gorgeous location with wonderful views. The beds were a wee bit hard for our aging bodies; the heating sporadic as the weather turned cold and the single pane windows fogged up every morning just... More

The hotel is slightly run-down, but in a nice, charming kind of way. Very intimate ambience, could be the setting of a '60 / '70 movie. My room was not spacious but then again it was also the cheapest, and the view on the Spoleto bridge was more than enough to offset this. But the real reason to choose this... More
