Having visited the Borgo della Marmotta on numerous occasions, my dad and his new wife decided to have their wedding here in October 2015. It's hard to find the words to describe how amazing the experience was - and the staff at the hotel deserve so much credit for this. The first thing my friend said to me when we... More

Magic and secret place perfect to relax and discover Umbria. Loved the architecture and the restoration that maintains the original charme of the umbrian old villages. Elegant and simple at the same time. The rooms are very clean and well designed. The host are great, very passionate and helpful. Sitting in the garden or around the swimmingpul is so beautiful... We love Italy and like to explore different places, preferably those that are not yet over-run by tourists. Umbria is a fabulous region, with a beauty often compared to Tuscany, minus the craziness; and the town of Spoleto is a gem. Right outside of the town is the lovely farmhouse of Borgo della Marmotta, which offers a quiet farmhouse setting... More

I don't know what some of these other posters are talking about -- we absolutely loved this place. It is stunning and looks like a small Italian village. The common areas are charming and our room was well appointed with a huge bathroom. We especially loved having breakfast out on the large lawn. It was too cold to use the... More

Knowing Italy well and having traveled extensively in all areas of Italy this was the most disappointed I have ever been. On arrival we were shown to our room which was more like a prison cell, no natural light and the most depressing decor, very old, strange furniture, and a disabled bathroom that flooded every time you turned on the... My boyfriend took me to Italy and booked this resort a few weeks in advance. Neither of us had been to Italy before so we weren't sure what to expect. Honestly, this place completely blew us away. The resort was so clean, quiet, and simply stunning. We made friends with a few other couples while dining in their restaurant (really... More

My wife and I spent 6 nights here and really appreciated the peace, tranquillity and the lovely grounds. The rooms were very nice and cleverly designed. By keeping the shutters closed during the day the room was cool enough to avoid needing to run the air conditioning at night. Just one drawback the place was inundated with mosquitoes, so pack... Stunning location and beautifully restored farm. However only use the on site restaurant in the evening if you have hours to while away and are not particularly hungry. As there is no guarantee your food will arrive at all and if it does, it may not be what you ordered. Staff are friendly and the standards generally are very high... More

Receptionist A was on the phone so my husband dropped off the luggage and parked the car, the area was some distance from the hotel, I waited and waited for A to finish her call, she did at one stage look up and say something like 'at last you arrive' on completion she then said she has been speaking with... The details behind the architecture and design were evident, however during our entire stay the internet was down most of the time and the staff were completely pre-occupied by this. To an extent this is understandable (it was inconvenient to us also) but you still need to attend to your guests. Check in and check out was slow and problematic.... More
