The location is like a small village with several rooms located around a central plaza and others at the outside. The rooms are spacious an comfortable in a kind of italian romantic farmhouse style. The only downside is the absence of a safe. The staff is friendly and assist you in any way they can. Breakfast is basic (Italian style... More

We were not sure exactly what to expect here, but we were not disappointed. Met by a lovely lady on the reception desk we were shown our room which was bigger than out London flat ! We booked a suite which come with a mini kitchen, fully stocked with pots and pans should you wish to cook. The farm house... More

We spent one night at this hotel, in order to visit Spoleto. There is a huge garden that surrounds the property with a very nice pool. The ambience is quiet and peaceful and the service is friendly and helpful. Sincé it is an Agriturismo, you must book lunch and dinner in advance, otherwise you must go into town to eat.... More

We stayed at Borgo della Marmotta for 4 nights as part of a 10 day Umbrian holiday. We had a wonderful trip with excellent hospitality in general, but Borgo della Marmotta sadly fell a bit short of our high expectations. Our room (we had a superior room) and hotel itself is tastefully decorated and spacious, with a communal lounge and... More

We booked this hotel which is really more like an elegant farmhouse with individual room/or self contained apartments with a charming site, swimming pool and small restaurant serving authentic and regionally sourced ingredients. There are a range of rooms and sizes, views etc. It is also linked to a set of self contained rental apartments called Villa della Genga just... More

We stayed a few nights at Borgo della Marmotta in June for my birthday. The hotel is an idyllicl farmhouse that has been in the family for years and has been beautifully renovated. Our room was lovely- spacious, clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished with an enormous bathroom with both bath and shower. The garden is large and offers many secluded... More

We only spent one night here but are determined to return. The room was stylishly understated but so comfortable. The pool is situated in a country garden and the whole set up is so relaxing and well designed. And the service we experienced was exceptional....with advice regarding our visit to Spoleto, booking a local restaurant, even to the extent of... More

We have just returned from the most wonderful weekend in Umbria, where we stayed at the beautiful Borgo della Marmotta. This place is only 10 minutes from the beautiful town of Spoleto, which in itself was a wonderful surprise. Such a beautiful place, full of amazing surprises around every corner. When you arrive at Borgo Della Marmotta the first challenge... More

If you're visiting the various villages and natural sights in this part of Umbria, Borgo della Marmotta makes a good basis for your excursions. It's secluded in the countryside but you can reach it easily by car. It's a typical country house, well renovated; the rooms are cosily decorated in a light-rustic style, beds could be more comfortable though; you... More

"Borgo" means small town in Italian and that's exactly what Borgo della Marmotta is -- your own personal little townlet. Our GPS could not find it, but the desk clerk graciously talked us in from Spoleto. At first we were disappointed that the rooms look inward on the courtyard rather than up to the lovely hills, but the level of... More
