Critical travelers and foodies that we are we could not think of one thing we would want to change to Borgo della Marmotta. Rooms are nice and spacious and very nicely decorated as is the lounge/ living room. The honesty bar offers the opportunity to help yourself to a drink at any hour of the day. Outside you can choose... More

Borgo della marmotta is a little corner of paradise, secluded, yet a 15-30 min car ride away from most of the attractions of beautiful Umbria. The Resort, is a comfortable car ride away from Rome. Besides being a convenient logistical base (you are better off with your own car or motorcycle) it’s is simply stunning! We liked everything about it.... More

What an incredible place. I stayed here for a week in April 2014. It was the most delightful and peaceful location with really gorgeous scenery and lovely staff. Very quiet and homey, yet full of joy and love. I wouldn't hesitate one bit about staying here -- I'm already planning my next visit!

We stayed here for a week in August 2013 with our 3 young children. Apartment was big enough, clean and cool. Our 2 sons slept in a sofa-bed, there was a small kitchen and refrigerator. Nice and expansive grounds, with almond and olive trees, leading to a swimming pool made for relaxation (although bees came looking for water constantly). Breakfast... More

The Borgo is all you need to visit Spoleto, Montefalco, Trevi, Assisi and the countryside of Umbria. An old farm in a small village in the midst of olive groves, nearby motorways and still in the quiet of the countryside, with wide views across the valley and towards the hills. Beautiful gardens, nice rooms and suites and a very comfy... More

Perfectly positioned in a peaceful Umbrian hamlet, this hotel is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful surrounding hill towns (Assisi, Norcia etc.). The hotel itself is beautifully laid out and decorated, with a relaxed yet sophisticated air. Breakfast is plentiful and delicious: the homegrown figs were a particular highlight. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed (wrought iron... More

Very relaxing place to be, excellent service and good value. Location is great for exploring Umbria. The hotel only provides B&B with a light lunch option if you order it. The owners tell us they are gearing up to provide their own restaurant. The absence of a restaurant s not a problem as there are so many eating options in... More

Poreta is in the middle of the Umbrian countryside, a 10-20 minute drive from a range of interesting villages - Montefalco a particularly worthwhile half-day trip. The hotel is lovely - wonderful room, great pool area and fantastic staff, extremely pleasant and helpful. With a car - this is a great place to escape for a few days - great... More

Super relaxing country house only a 10 minute drive from Spoleto. I had a beautiful and spacious superior room and it was just magical. I thought that although staff is incredibly sweet and friendly the service needs improvement. At breakfast I noticed guests getting up the whole time to ask for coffee, at lunch for water etc. I think guests... More

Borgo is a farm resort which rises out of its rather drab environs as an oasis of quality and calm. It is very difficult to find the entrance but once you do you will be greeted by beautifully kept lawns and flower beds and a prettily restored cluster of rooms based around a central communal area. Fabio is very welcoming... More
