Greeted with a glass of bubbles on arrival plus all the relevant information for the area, we found the husband and wife who run this small hotel are just delightful and extremely helpful. The location is just perfect for visiting the Cinque Terre (2 minute walk to train station) which saves the problem of parking at one of the vilages.... more

Locanda del Borgo was a delightful surprise. We knew little about Sestri and the hotel. The room was clean, light, nicely furnished and looked out onto the flourishing garden. The room was clean, pleasant, plenty of windows and sunlight (with retractable shutters), mosquito netting was a plus, shower was small (by US standards) but very functional, restroom spotless, the room even had a small TV (though why would anyone waste time in this beautiful town by watching TV?). Interesting design inn, we enjoy the pay-tv service and the short distance to the train station. Good breakfast, maybe not large than buffet style but ok. The owners can accomodate every needs. more

Prompted by the poor review I've just read about this hotel I'd like to redress the balance a bit. We stayed there at the beginning of September and I can't praise highly enough the hotel and especially the young couple running it. The publicity for this place, same on several well-known hotel booking websites, we found to be very misleading e.g. the photographs & description of the location. Beautiful, comfortable and clean room. We felt very welcome. Nice location. 5 min. walk to trainstation. Perfect for a visit to the Cinque terre and Portofino. We really enjoyed our stay. Owners are verry friendly and helpful. more
