We came to this area looking for places to have our wedding next year. On the website this hotel looked ideal as a possible place for our guests to stay as it was clean, close to the beach and with character. On arrival we were to discover that almost all the facilities were closed! including the tea garden and restaurant... more

I traveled with my almost adult daughter in July. I was most impressed with this family run hotel which I found online. When I arrived I was warmly greeted by Maria the hotel manager. She was always available, and she was extremely helpful with any questions or needs we had. Maria could not do enough to make us comfortable and... more

October is the perfect time to go to Sorrento - fewer tourists and perfect weather. We were the only guests in the hotel as it was winding down to close at the end of the season. We enjoyed a clean comfortable room with a balcony and view of the town of Sant'Agnello. The hotel is a 15 minute brisk walk... more

Even in the last week of September Sorrento is a busy, noisy, touristy place and unless you pay top dollar or stay on the outskirts of town, you can't avoid all-night traffic noise. The Villa Margherita is not in Sorrento proper, but in Sant'Agnello (25 minute walk to Sorrento), so get off at the Sant'Agnello train station (10 minute walk... more

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Margherita for 3 nights in May. Our room was on the third floor overlooking the town of Sant Agnello. We enjoyed a beautiful view from the balcony. Although there was no airconditioning, we had windows on 3 sides, which gave us great cross venelation, we actually used the blanket. Yes, there is constant... more

The Margherita Hotel is basic but clean and the staff a little distant but polite and helpful. It is quite convenient to the railway station (15 min walk) and about 25 mins from the centre of Sorrento. The two main drawbacks to the Margherita are the food and the traffic noise. The breakfast ends at 9am and never changed for... more

stayed here as my original booked hotel was changed at the last minute. it is very clean, but, the food is very variable sometimes OK sometimes not. The staff are very nice, the management need some training in management skills, no proper welcome, no thank you on departure, any queries made you feel as if you were intruding, too many... more

I stayed at Villa Margherita for 5 nights in May and found it to be clean and simple, with the staff being friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the location of St.Agnello, as it's not as touristy or as busy at Sorrento. I found the walk to Sorrento only about 15-20minutes at most, rather than the 30minutes quoted by another reviewer.... more

I have stayed at the villa margherita for many years. we have always found it the most friendly and authentically Italian hotel in which we have stayed. Our son who was 4 months old when we first took him was made very welcome and they could do enough to entertain him. indeed there were times that they took him to... more
