I cannot say enough good things about this place! My best friend and I backpacked Italy for 3 weeks, staying a night or two in hostels and passing through, but when we wound up here, we didn't go any further!!! In fact, we've gone back to Italy JUST TO STAY HERE!!! Fabulous food (worth the price), great advice, gorgeous accommodating... More

We booked a weeks stay at Mami Camilla for my sisters wedding. Our room was basic but did the job, though, for the hotel prices charged we could have definitely gotten much better more central to Sorrento had we booked earlier. I would have expected to pay closer to hostel rates than hotel rates for what we were offered. Our... More

Mami Camilla is billed as a Bed and Breakfast, which I suppose it is, technically. To me, it was more a hostel suitable for back-packers - very spartan rooms and bare bones amenities. The bed was the second most uncomfortable I've ever experienced in many years of travel (all over Europe, the USA, Canada, Southern Africa and New Zealand -... More

Together with a friend I stayed a week at the family run hotel & cooking school. The hotel in Piano di Sorrento is clean, simple, good value for money. The real selling point however is the lovely cooking school and the friendly and accommodating family. Together with the other students a four course menu (based on dishes students want to... More

It was clean and the rooms were nice. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The location was a little bit far from the main town of sorrento but was walkable. The beach was only a short walk away. No kitchen and the food provided looked good but was very expensive.

I arrived back from a 5 night stay in Mami Camilla yesterday and as my stay was so lovely I felt it deserved my first review on tripadvisor. Me and my boyfriend stayed in room 5 although I was disappointed as I was told by Expedia, when I made the booking back in May, that we were going to have... More

Stayed in the 5 room dorm for 2 nighta with my sister. The room was quite small and the bathroom was tiny and as such hardpto share with 4 others. The floor got soaked as they didn't provide a bath mat and so it was always muddy and gross. Location: its a good 25 minute walk into the centre of... More

this was actually the first hostel in our stay in Italy which served great breakfast. Camilla is a true Italian mamma makes sure there's enough going around. The atmosphere is very homely as it is a family run place and the entire family (including their dog Lola!) gathers in the mornings. The rooms very comfortable and spacious and the air-conditioning... More

The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were fantastic and clean, and the atmosphere seemed quite amazing. Though the initial payment process was arduous to say the least (they messed up a few peoples' payments, didn't have ANY change even though they were expecting a group of 20 or so students, and their card machine was sketchy) everyone in our group... We stayed 8 nights and loved it. Mami Camillas is definitely different, slightly ad hoc in parts, colourful, bursting with character and personality and the characters are bursting with personality! Our room was at the very top (14) with views over the Bay, Mount Vesuvius and Naples - stunning! Breakfast is fantastic with a hearty "Ciao" every morning from Mami... More
