I have been in this hotel on a business trip to Parma, since all the hotels were full in Parma due to a large convention / exhibition ... This property has definitely seen better days but apparently the owners do not have the means to bring it up to modern standards. The room was clean but everything was tired, the... more

Salsomaggiore Terme is a charming old-fashioned spa town, its center filled by a gorgeous Thermal bath building, park and garden. If you are in Parma or need to drive in that direction, it makes a lovely stop for a night or two. Hotel Excelsior was a terrific value and provided a large, lovely and well-located room if in a building... more
