The Riva area has lovely surroundings. The views are great. If you are interested in sailing or wind surfing it would be a great location for this. There is some walking available in the area, too, and some of the villages (especially Limone) are attractive. We have just returned from a rather nice holiday at the Hotel Savoy Palace in Riva on Lake Garda. The hotel is 4 star Italian, probably top end of 3 star Uk, and run by the Tonelli family who are very much in evidence. A well presented hotel which is family owned where all work hard to make sure that all their visitors have an excellent standard of service.
