we have stayed at the Centrale on two previous occasionsand were aware of the ups and downs. I'll give the few postives first: good location, room ok, light lunch fine. Otherwise this hotel was dreadful. Full of English coach parties and a large group of Italian teenaged students. We had reduced our expectation due to previous reviews, but enjoyed our stay at the Centrale. Staff were helpful and generally friendly (though a couple of the females in the breakfast room and restaurant are unable to smile). This hotel doesn’t have too many positives. The best thing about it is its location – it’s right beside the lake and is very handy for the ferries and exploring the rest of Riva. Just returned from a really good holiday at the Hotel Centrale. The food was adequate and not sure what previous complaints were about. There was a CONTINENTIAL BREAKFAST, which consists of cererals,rolls, cheese and meats, that is what the breakfast consists of and there was enough for every one.
