Dinner was served plated at the table with average size portions, breakfast was self service cereal, cheese, cooked meats and boilded eggs with bread, jam and butter. All of my holidays are budget holidays and therefore I never expect to stay in a palace. I expect to get what I pay for. I did get a little worried after reading a lot of the comments on here, but am glad to say that I needn't have worried at all. Of all of the many small budget hotels... more

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, it is very basic with very small bedrooms, tiny beds and no air conditioning. When I asked about this, a member of staff said it would be on the next day as it it was in the middle of being repaired. Guess what it never happened all the time we were there. The... more

After many weeks of wondering whether to take this trip to riva after reading the hotel reviews,we decided to go and see for ourselves . I was worried for nothing ,the hotel is first class and great value for money as this area of italy is very expensive . The food is very good with wonderful pasta starters that are... more

I was quite apprehensive about staying in the Hotel Bristol after reading all the negative reviews on TripAdviser but I need not have worried . Yes it is about 15 to 20 minutes walk into the centre but that did not bother us at all. The pool is lovely, the rooms are clean and ours even had a fridge in... more

I read the reviews on here before my holiday and they were all quite negative. We were pleasantly suprised! The hotel is lovely - rooms are fairly basic but kept nice and clean. We enjoyed the food - evening meal was a salad buffet followed by either soup or a pasta dish, then your main and dessert. Service was fine... more

Breakfast was fine. Reasoable selection fruit, yoghurt, eggs ,bacon, cereals cooked meats and cheese. Dinner was very poor. Overcooked ,bland, stew 2 nights on the run. Only one vegetable served, boiled beyond recognition. Staff pleasant enough. Avoid room 111 as a single, cramped, as a twin it would be impossible to move around in. Not to be recommended. more

we stayed at the hotel bristol in early oct 2008. All in all it left something to be desired. The decor made it seem like you are in a seventies timewarp. The food was basic and the staff mostly unfriendly. Despite the brochure saying 15mins to the centre of Riva, we found it was moore like 30 to 40mins walk.... more

Hotel is a good 20 minute walk from main town. Taxis charge 15 euro one way to hotel Owners and some staff were very rude.
