My husband and I stayed here for two nights as part of a whirlwind tour of Italy. It was the perfect spot from which to relax for a couple of days before heading off to Rome. The location is absolutely spectacular. We didn't want to leave our balcony which overlooked the crystal blue sea. As the spring season was just... More

My cousin and I made this our home base for the Amalfi Coast part of our trip in May 2013. This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, and by far, had the best food of any hotel ever. We didn't want to leave. It was ideally located on the coast highway, just up the road from... More

This is truly our favourite hotel in Italy. We try to get there whenever we can usually with some friends. Nicolas, Rosa and all their staff really make us so welcome and Rosa's cooking is just wonderful. We will keep coming back to tis gem of a hotel whenever possible

We spent 5 days here during a trip to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The hotel rooms were very comfortable, clean and with spectacular views out to sea. The family went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Food was terrific with simple, local dishes and plenty of seafood. We were very sad to leave, which says everything... More

5 days in this lovely hotel with great baths in the sea, great food and great service with a local family. Ideally placed to discover the region by bus and foot. Rooms are very comfortable and the view is amazing.

The absolute ideal hotel that one could imagine on this magical coast. Built in 1952. Maintained as if it were built yesterday. On the lowest beach road is a small car park with the hotel name. Below there are about seven stories of hard-to-believe levels, each only one room deep of reception, gardens, decks, rooms, restaurant, rock swimming platform. There... More

We spent 7 nights here in October and wished we could have stayed on. Even though the weather was not the best, it was such a relaxing place to put your feet up. The rooms are very comfortable and the terrace view is to die for. We were able to sit on our terrace with a glass of wine and... More

We spent 4 nights at this lovely hotel and could easily have stayed for longer! The accommodation is located right by the sea, our rooms had balconies overlooking the water and it was easy to spend a few hours relaxing and taking in the views. You can swim off a platform and there are lots of sunbeds dotted around the... More

With stunning views and lovely hosts why would you stay anywhere else. Idyllic views onto the Mediterranean and your own private access to the sea make this a very romantic place. The small number of rooms and the family style of service make this a very relaxing place to stay. It is a very short walk to Amalfi and the... More

This review is for the restaurant only. We stayed at Villa San Michele's sister villa, Villa Scarpariello, and they recommended the restaurant at Villa San Michele. I am usually a little skeptical of "sister" hotels and recommendations--but in this case, the recommendation could not have been better. The restaurant at San Michele served the best food we had in Italy.... More
