This family-owned, 12 room place offers a perfect perspective of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The hotel main rooms are many steps down from the main road, insulating the place from road noise, but there are those steps. Uncertain of my wife's comfort with the steps, the staff booked us in the highest (closest) room. When they found out we had gluten... More

I found this little hotel on Tripadvisor---and SO GLAD! It was even more lovely than it looks in their photos. We were totally wowed. We were greeted by the staff like we were family. They showed us to our room which was on the lowest level, nearest to the water. The rooms are all really big and light. We had... More

Simple but fabulous. Certainly not boutique or in any way glam but totally charming in its way. With many steps, as other reviewers mention, through gorgeous gardens with glimpses and full on views of the stunning coastline and down to the bathing platform. The rooms are basic but have everything necessary; safe, tv, mini bar, air con. Our room, 116B... More

We stayed there in October 2014 for a few days and enjoyed it very much. The owners were incredilbly friendly and forthcoming. I have some food issues (sensitivity to gluten and dairy products). I got the best service I could have asked for. They cooked a special gluten free pasta dish every night as a starter for me plus an... More

My husband and I recently spent five nights at Villa San Michele as part of a three week trip in Italy, and it was the highlight of our entire vacation! What a fabulous experience we had! Combine an amazing location with exquisite natural beauty, gorgeous public areas and gardens, charming and comfortable rooms above the sea, absolutely DELICIOUS food, and... More

We have recently returned from a wonderful five days at Villa St Michele and our praise for its delightful setting and its impeccably run establishment could not be higher. The beauty of watching the sunrise to the brilliance of a full moon stretching out across the sea on our last night whilst sipping Prosecco from our balcony illuminating a small fishing... My wife and I just returned from spending a week at Villa San Michele as part of a surprise birthday trip for her and it was without doubt the best part of our holiday in Italy. I won’t restate the many positive comments of other Tripadvisor guests in terms of this being an excellent place to stay, but two things... More

San Michele on the Almalfi Coast is a fabulous Hotel to explore this mesmerising part of Italy. Great views, great food, very friendly and helpful service. Swimming off the rocks is wonderful in such a warm sea. This hotel is great if you just want to relax, swim and enjoy the peace, but also is a great base to explore... More

We booked the hotel on a review in Alastair Sawday's guide to Italy. We were not disappointed. We have stayed around the world in some beautiful hotels, but for location, charm, friendly service, great food this cannot be beaten anywhere. The views are amazing from the rooms and the only sound is the gentle lapping of the Mediterranean Sea directly... More

My wife and I returned to Villa San Michele simply because we knew we had to. Two years ago we spent a week, here, being looked after by the wonderful Dipino family and their staff and visiting the many attractions of the Amalfi coastline and Bay of Naples. We rarely return to the same place, however, here is the exception... More
