We stayed here for one night on our tour of Sicily. We chose this hotel because of the proximity to Ragusa Ibla, and the fact that it had a swimming pool. The hotel is excellent.. Tastefully furnished, and despite some of the reviews we read, pigeons are not a problem, and the sun loungers are more than comfortable! Staff are... More

Stayed for 4 nights as part of a week's holiday in Sicily to celebrate holidays. The outside temperature off the scale - so hot! - but hotel has first class air conditioning. Staff on reception unfailingly helpful - booked taxis, helped us organize a day trip to see Montalbano sights. Breakfast first class - really very good range of fresh... More

First my moan about the pool - which was why I booked this hotel so that we could chill after walking down to Ragusa Ibla... This was a big disappointment. The pool area is very sterile and no one uses it: mainly I think because of the pigeons and the horrid, rigid sunbeds which are so uncomfortable! There are no... More

Villa del Lauro is a small hotel in Ragusa Superiore near the steps that lead down into towards Ragusa Ibla, where most of the tourist sites are. The street is narrow and steeply sloping, which makes parking tricky, and in part dictates the layout of the hotel. Unusually for the area, so far as we could see, this has a... More

The beginning of our stay at this hotel was not flawless. We had rented a room in the annex of the building, just opposite the main building.a thing that we were well aware off. The room was actually fantastic, a duplex with a balcony that offered a splendid view over Ragusa. My enthusiasm dropped however dramatically when I asked for... More

This was a nice hotel made from a historic building and filled with charm. Here are the "good" and the "bad". I stayed in Room 11 Good: Large room Clean room Lovely garden setting for breakfast Good (free) wi-fi connection Bad: International TV stations did not work in my room Very small shower stall. VERY small, indeed. Had to walk... More

Excellent customer attention, boutique hotel with nice room. We were here during Christmas Holidays with the family and got there after drive from Catania, just about every restaurant in town was closed--no problem, the receptionist made us sandwiches and brought drinks. Nice way to start. The location is not far from Ragus Ibla. Breakfast was GREAT, my kids loved the... More

We wanted to stay 2-3 nights in this Hotel but checked out after 1 night. The Swimming Pool was inviting. But when we wanted to jump in, we saw a dead Dove in The Pool. We took it out and put beside the pool. Next Day the dead Dove was still there. There are about 100 Doves in and around... More

Our suite was lovely, very spacious with a separate living room. The view onto the street was very pretty and it is a very short walk to Ragusa Ibla. The pool was very nice and the main room where you have breakfast/ballroom was absolutely stunning. I would definitely recommend this lovely place.

The hotel owner really has a great eye for design and the villa renovation is truly lovely but as a hotel it just isn't quite working yet. Ragusa - a strange town I'm not sure if its on the way up or on its way out but it doesnt seem to have lots of tourists beyond day trips or 1... More
