We stayed at the Hotel Hermitage for a week and we really enjoyed our time. Its location made it super easy for us to travel and visit nearby cities like Florence, Pisa and Lucca, while also discovering more local cities and areas. The staff at the hotel and the restaurant were super friendly and always there when needed. There was also always someone at the reception which made everything easier. The pool space is a bit small for so many people but we still managed to enjoy it and it is a nice space when not crowded. The rooms are good, although they look a bit outdated and the bathroom is perhaps a little small. The Wi-Fi also gave us some problems but ended up working during most of our stay. Overall, we would recommend the hotel, we had a very pleasant stay and would love to come again😊 Recommended for families as well as couples or groups.

Been in Hermitage just for 1 night. I'm removing one star for each of the following: 1 A living beetle in room 2 A dead spider under a pillow 3 An air conditioning system sounding like a broken bulldozer 4 An artistic burnt bus in the parking (no kidding, take a look at the pic) 5 A firefighting system completely sealed with aluminum paper: clearly someone before us had wanted to smoke in the room. Now the question arises: have the room been cleaned before our arrival? After presenting al these problems we received some excuses and a discount: maybe the only good point of the hotel is the price. Breakfast was no more than decent: very few choices of sweet food, some more option for salty food. Not very good for south European customer like an Italian. Interesting the only toaster present with broken timer knob making it barely usable: Amazon is full of options, might be an idea for a future investment. Overall is a pity. The structure would be very interesting, despite having a huge need for a refurbishment, and the position is nice because of a spectacular view on the Pistoia-Prato-Florence valley. Even some of the employees seems quite prepared, but there is clearly a management issue in this hotel. You would expect a lot more from an italian 3 stars hotel: now it is definitely not recommended.

A good choice if you want accommodation for one night and then move on on holiday. Nice staff in the restaurant, bar and service counter. Wishing service disk staff learn a little more English during the summer.

Stayed here on a biking holiday, the hotel is located in a beautiful area, private and quiet setting with secure gated access, and ideally placed for rides out close to Florence and Bologna, the staff very friendly and helpful. However the facilities are average to good at best, the room I stayed in was okay overlooking the gravel driveway to rear situated next to the kitchen and all the associated noises, the restaurant and food was poor and expensive. Good location but overall disappointing facilities particularly the restaurant!!

I came to the Hermitage as a base when visiting friends and could not have been happier with the service and the Hotel amenities. My room was a lovely double room with air conditioning and lovely clean bathroom and very comfortable bed! As a "glutard" (my new word for gluten intolerance), I could not have been better looked after! The range of products that were available at breakfast amazed me and I enjoyed a full and satisfying breakfast every morning that was better than anything I actually have at home!!! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and I cannot recommend Hotel Hermitage highly enough!

We stayed at the lovely Hetmitage Hotel in Poggio for 2 nights. We enjoyed the spectacular views, bountiful complimentary breakfast and swimming pool. Staff were warm and welcoming, perfect stay for exploring Poggio & visiting the spectacular Medici villa!

Stayed here for 2 nights on a motorcycle tour of Italy and found it to be ideal for our needs, it was comfortable and the staff were very helpful and the restaurant was very nice, my wife has to have a gluten free diet and nothing was too much trouble, they had gluten free pasta and bread and they made sure that bread was available for breakfast - I would certainly recommend this hotel

Found this nice place in the hills just outside Firenze on hotels.com. Needed a place to cool down during a heatwave, and the breeze and (small and shallow, but adequate) pool was perfect. There was also a bus service from Poggio a Caiano into Firenze, so we didn't have to drive in for a day in the city. Booked a junior suite but this was unavailable (which made hotels.com/Expedia cancel the order, while we were in route), but the staff got us a smaller (but still very nice) room, and the hotel manager sorted everything out with the local Expedia office. Excellent service by the staff (not so much for Expedia who told me to call an American (!!) phone number, and didn't reply to my email). Also, we overslept one morning, and missed the complementary breakfast, but the receptionist went in and found a couple of croissants and got the bartender to make us a couple of (very tasty) cappuccinos. Again excellent service. The room we got had a nice size, and a huge (north easterly directed) terrace, all though the air condition struggled a bit in the (extreme) heat. Very good restaurant on site.

If I'm ever near florence or pisa again I'm staying here. We enjoyed ourselves by the pool in the hot weather and its a short distance to florence and even Pisa.. About 30 mins drive. Good food available during the evening. 2 course menu with water and wine glass for 20 euros. Friendly staff that speak good english and were always willing to help. Quiet and peaceful and awesome view from the country roads over green hills. Thanks for the stay.
