I chose this hotel, in Prato, as a place to stay to visit Florence without having to drive there. The hotel was easy to find and despite a ZTL (limited traffic zone) I was able to pull up right in front of the hotel and park very conveniently. This family run hotel was immaculate, the room a decent size for... More

This is a fabulous 3 star hotel. We loved our stay. We had a large comfortable room. It is a family run hotel and they were all so very friendly and helpful. We were working at Monash and it was a short walk. Great cafes and restaurants close by. We'll be back for sure.

The hotel is right in the center of Prato, there must be 20-30 restaurants within a five-minute walk. Breakfast is nice, AC works well, showers are tiny but everything works, employees are very friendly and warm, most speak pretty good English. Not a bad choice if you end up staying in Prato.

We did visit Florence ( we had been before), but better we discovered Prato . This is a typical Italian town without the crush of tourists ;interesting buildings GREAT restaurants ( look for where the... More

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Giardino, and is in a great location (right next to the Duomo) and very close to Monash University. The rooms were quite large and well kept, and particularly as I stayed during the middle of summer, I did not find sound outside noisy at all. The hotel staff were all helpfuland very friendly,... Conveniently located off the square and 3 blocks from train station. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Room is large and clean. Bathroom is fair sized as well. Bed is rather firm which was a problem for my wife. Has an elevator. No air conditioning. Because of street noise one can't leave the windows open. Not a major issue unless... More

Brilliant location, especially if you are attending meetings at the Monash University Centre. Only a few minutes away. Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful. Charming and warm. Giardino is right next the the lovley duomo and there are many other beautiful churches and museums. While Prato is a small city, the old town is very compact. The hotel is... More

very welcoming and friendly atmosphere, close to the station and in the center of Prato. Clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast and friendly staff. When we arrived they could not find our reservation because they misspelled our name but then they carefully checked and found the hotel reservation, they are very nice. I highly recommend it

Spent 4 nights or so here - hotel seemed a little bit tired, but then again, Prato is probably a bit overshadowed by Florence in terms of tourism. The price wasn't exorbitant for what you got, and the room was actually quite spacious, with a window that opened fully to overlook the street and town square. Location is great for... More

I have repeatedly either stayed at Hotel Giardino or had groups of university students stay here. The location is second to none with Prato Porta al Serraglio train station a 2 minute walk from the doorstop offering a 20 minute train trip to Florence. Prato is a sane alternative to the tourist trodden capital of Tuscany. Hotel Giardino is right... More
