I spent 6 nights in San Marco and the stay was enjoyable comparing with the price. The room service, conditioners, WiFi internet, and breakfast had good standard. It is placed in walking distance of the most historic places. I enjoyed my stay in Prato where I went for a conference in Monash University Center in Prato.

We travelled for a conference to Prato where the organisers placed us in the San Marco, the girl on reception was very helpful on arrival, the room was basic and the air con took a while to figure out, but it worked, admittedly we arrived during a heatwave (temps of 35 degrees in day, only dropping to 30 at nite)... We stayed here for four days and used it as a base for exploring Lucca and Florence and it was perfect. The staff treated us like family and all the staff were super friendly and helpful. We want to especially note Sonya, Marco and Alex. When you go tell them Kim and Wayne from Oregon say ciao.

I found the San Marco quite basic in terms of the room and bathroom furniture and breakfast however there was a small gym (some equipment didn't work) and a quiet roof terrace.
