Delightful small hotel in the centre of Praiano. It is right on the busy main road but that is not apparent once inside and it is exceptionally convenient as buses for Amalfi and Positano stop right outside. (Cars not recommended !) There is not a lot to Praiano but it seemed a much nicer and quieter place to stay than... More

What a nice experience. This hotel is centrally located, family run and the rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The view from our balcony room was breathtaking. Breakfast was plentiful with meats, cheeses, croissants, eggs, cereals, juices and great café latte. We also had dinner there the day we arrived and enjoyed our meal only to be topped by the... So... let's get one thing out of the way, right away. This is not a 5 star hotel. But, we did enjoy a 5 star experience during our week long stay at the wonderful Hotel Smeraldo! (Our trip was actually in May 2011.) We opted for the superior room with a Jacuzzi tub on the balcony. (It did take a... More

I went to stay at Hotel Smeraldo with my boyfriend for one week during the off season last February. I am a world traveler and read great reviews on Trip Advisor thinking we found the perfect spot. While my experience was okay, I had originally told the owners that they could hold my reservation using my credit card (as this... More

Dear Madam, I think there has been such a great misunderstanding as nobody told you should have been refunded. The owner told you he would have checked your situation and refunded you, just in case of contingent mistake. But that sounded such as unusual. We have checked it and You paid your staying by your credit card, and € 330... More

Nice hotel ,with elegant, traditional, sea view rooms, perfect for a honeymoon ,or just for holiday. Maybe the most beautiful view ,I have ever seen from a hotel terrace and so was the restaurant. Nice, gentle stuff,in fact a family which made us feel comfortable during our stay.Very clean rooms ,good breakfast and good restaurant ,maybe a little bit expensive. I didn`t like... More

Two weeks ago my family and I stayed in this hotel for four nights, and I tried to reread the reviews on this hotel to make sure that the reviews are for the same one, without a doubt each one has a different perspective on how one sees/evaluates things, however there are certain facts that should be told to others... We spent five days in Hotel Smeraldo and would highly recommend it. We didn't want to stay in a crowded tourist town and this hotel is brilliantly located in Priano, south of Positano. They have a fabulous view of the coast on their large terrace. Our room had a balcony with a lovely view, too. Their restaurant La Dolce Vista... More

I regret that we didn't discover this lovely, quaint hotel with a fabulous view of the Amalfi Coast until the day before we left Praiano. We had lunch and dinner there, the two best meals we had anywhere in Praiano. The family owners were so cordial, and provided very good service. The daughter of the owner graciously showed us a... I came here with my family on our first day in Praiano, and what a start they gave us at the restaurant of Hotel Smeraldo! We got a table with a fantastic view of the sea, the service was quick and very friendly, and the food was delicious. Just go there and try it out!

After 450 steps down and back to the beach, this hotel was a welcome find. Terrace restaurant all to ourselves for an early dinner of the delicious local grilled fish and white wine. Friendly host provided great service. Views with sun setting behind Position breathtaking, We were staying somewhere else so just commenting on the restaurant
