I stayed here a couple summers ago and it was a nice stay. The staff are very friendly and the hotel is clean. Its not the nicest hotel in Positano but for the price it is very reasonable. The location is very nice. The room was light, quiet and clean with a wonderful balcony and seaview. Not to overpriced. The staff helpful. The owner family runs the hotel. They are rude and careless about any kind of customer happiness. Breakfast is terrible, every food they prepare is so bad, they put ruined apples that are wrinkled all over for breakfast with no shame and expect you to eat that! Found this hotel on booking.com but eventually booked with them directly after emailing them about a discount mentioned on their website. The hotel is a family-run hotel, so it appears they prefer to have direct bookings, offering a small discount for paying in cash. Made sure in email that the room comes with a view. the hotel was fine broadly. Of course it is far from the beach, you have to walk a lot. But the view is unquestionable. rather basic rooms, sheets and towels are very poor. We booked on line with booking.com through trip advisor. They tried to get us to cancel that booking and pay less...which seems dishonest to me,as. We had an enjoyable stay. The view cannot be faulted. Room was nice, all tiled, big bed and good bathroom with hair dryer. I was very pleased with my stay at Hotel Gabbiano. My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights.
