I read about this hotel in Lonely planet and booked it. True to what was written, this place is near perfect. The views offered from the dining area was breath-taking. I understood that for 10-15 Euros more, you can get rooms with a better view as well. Carlos - the friendly owner - goes to any length to help you.... More

We stayed at Maria Luisa on recommendation from my Aunty (Gaye), who said was a great Hotel that is budget priced but offered the most amazing views and great access to the restaurants and the beach. It didn't let us down, the owner Carlo is the most friendliest man you could ever meet and nothing was a problem. The room... More

Thanks a lot for your review Nathan! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay! A point concerning the stairs to the beach: the 400 steps to the beach are not mandatory but are just an option! You can walk instead, or take a bus, from the road to the beach in 10 minutes with no stairs! I look forward to having... More

I would definitely stay here again! Positano is breathtaking and l loved Carlo's place. My room was huge, view amazing and I would sit endlessly watching it with my vino and book and that was only when I was home - I spent much of my time enjoying what Posianto offered, from the beach to the mountain - amazing! Carlo... More

Great views, owner Carlo very friendly and very accommodating. Stayed in room with balcony, well worth extra money for the view. Great place to drink Limoncello. Rooms basic but very clean and water for shower was hot.

Pensione Maria Luisa is a great budget spot in Positano. It's very no frills, but the room was clean and a good size. We had the basic room, but the shared balcony is a wonderful place to start your morning or end the day. Carlo is so friendly and nice and it felt very much like staying in a family... More

If it's Positano's views you're after then this is your place. Sure it's basic - even a little rustic - but when you sit on that terrace and look out over those views, you're seeing exactly what they see at the upscale places but you're having the last laugh as you're paying only 85 euro per night. It's the third... More

Carlo's place is not 5 star nor is it priced 5 star. What is does have are comfortable rooms, unbelievable views and one of the nicest hosts we met during our 1 month trip throughout Europe. We stayed as a family with 2 rooms with terraces. My 3 teenagers in one room and myself and my wife in another. Carlo greeted... More

If you want a budget room (definitely no frills) then this is the place! Just a few words of warning however... 1. The towels are small, no larger than hand towels. 2. No soap in the bathroom - take your own (or use shower gel which is what we did) 3. It can get very stuffy particularly in room 2... More

We thank our guest for the valuable feedback and we are happy to respond to all the points: 1. The towels: we have hand towels as well as big towels, beach towels and bathrobes! Probably, by mistake, there weren't any in the room, but it was just a mistake that doesn't even happen often. Our guest could have shared this... More

We had read reviews of the Pensione Maria Luisa on tripadvisor which said the pensione was fantastic, basic but very clean and with a really helpful proprietor Carlo and that the balcony view was the most amazing view you could hope to see. The balcony view is fabulous and in that regard we were thrilled. Thank heaven since that was... More

Lovely little hotel with balcony rooms (not all rooms)overlooking the ocean. Rooms are not air-conditioned but this was not a problem with the big doors onto the terrace and the ocean breeze. Carparking is not available at the hotel but can be obtained a short distance away for about 20€ per day. The hotel is down an alley with a... More
