Staying at Pensione Maria Luisia is all about compromise. What you get with the terrace rooms is a large terrace with table, chairs, umbrella and 'sun lounges'. The terraces are fairly well screened from each other and have an amazing view over the bay. You also have access to the shared terrace which also has an incredible view over the... More

Carlo met us on arrival and was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was at his sister's place just down the road and food was great and only 5 euro. View from the balcony was stunning and enjoyed every minute of our trip in Positano. Just be prepared for a lot of walking which you need to wear off the great... More

This is not a 5 star place and is really only for couples looking for the bear basics: a room, bathroom and terrazzo view to take in the glorious Positano coast, and yes thee is wifi. Carlo is a gracious and helpful host. We paid €85 per night with terrazzo €80 if you want without. The €5 breakfast is basic... More

Our family (2 adults & 2 kids, aged 12 & 14yrs) stayed at Maria Luisa for 8 nights (3-11 July) in a quad room. My husband and I nostalgically chose this pensione after recalling a delightful stay 17years ago... We remembered an affable host, a charming room, views, a rooftop terrace and proximity to Fornillo beach; and all those things... More

Carlo was a wonderful host. The view from our balcony was absolutely stunning. It is a picture perfect place. The position of the pensione is great - quiet away from crowds but near to the internal bus stop on the town road. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was good absolutely topped off by the view out of... More

Second stay here, this time for a week. Loved the balcony ,huge, quiet and overlooking the sea. Nice little dining table and chairs plus deckchairs and umbrella.Great also that the pensione is well off the town road making it a haven of peace to come back to.Good hot shower. My only complaint is the ant problem. They were even in our... More

we just got back from 2 weeks May 23, 2014, and we spent 4 nights staying at Maria Lusia. Its beautifully located, with our room over looking the beach and the shoreline. We were there on May 14 through 18, and it was 90 Euro a night, and since we did not want to park the car at the top... More

This guesthouse is perfect for travellers on a budget who are wanting to experience the romance of Positano. The accommodation is basic, but it is very clean and the manager Carlo is a delightful and very helpful man. The star attraction is the view from the rooms - stunning panoramic vistas of the coast. It is WELL worth paying the... More

We came out of season and paid 65 and 85 for a 2 and 3 room. Not cheap - but that seems to be the case for Positano. We were upgraded to sea view rooms - very beautiful (although the public terrace has the best views). Our host was really friendly and lent us a made to do the Walk... More

What a find! Our room had a gorgeous view of the sea, from a spacious terrace. The room was large and clean. Carlo was a very pleasant host; he was friendly and made us feel at home. The pensione is well located, with an easy walk to restaurants and shopping. The beach is close, but be prepared for a lot... More
