If it's Positano's views you're after then this is your place. Sure it's basic - even a little rustic - but when you sit on that terrace and look out over those views, you're seeing exactly what they see at the upscale places but you're having the last laugh as you're paying only 85 euro per night. It's the third... More

Carlo's place is not 5 star nor is it priced 5 star. What is does have are comfortable rooms, unbelievable views and one of the nicest hosts we met during our 1 month trip throughout Europe. We stayed as a family with 2 rooms with terraces. My 3 teenagers in one room and myself and my wife in another. Carlo greeted... More

If you want a budget room (definitely no frills) then this is the place! Just a few words of warning however... 1. The towels are small, no larger than hand towels. 2. No soap in the bathroom - take your own (or use shower gel which is what we did) 3. It can get very stuffy particularly in room 2... More

We had read reviews of the Pensione Maria Luisa on tripadvisor which said the pensione was fantastic, basic but very clean and with a really helpful proprietor Carlo and that the balcony view was the most amazing view you could hope to see. The balcony view is fabulous and in that regard we were thrilled. Thank heaven since that was... More

Lovely little hotel with balcony rooms (not all rooms)overlooking the ocean. Rooms are not air-conditioned but this was not a problem with the big doors onto the terrace and the ocean breeze. Carparking is not available at the hotel but can be obtained a short distance away for about 20€ per day. The hotel is down an alley with a... More

My partner and I stayed here in the summer of 2013 in a terrace room which was nice with a lovely view, it was recommended by friends and the place did not disappoint. Carlos and his family are wonderful and will give you all the help you need to organize your days in the Amalfi coast. The rooms have a... More

Staying at Pensione Maria Luisia is all about compromise. What you get with the terrace rooms is a large terrace with table, chairs, umbrella and 'sun lounges'. The terraces are fairly well screened from each other and have an amazing view over the bay. You also have access to the shared terrace which also has an incredible view over the... More

Carlo met us on arrival and was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was at his sister's place just down the road and food was great and only 5 euro. View from the balcony was stunning and enjoyed every minute of our trip in Positano. Just be prepared for a lot of walking which you need to wear off the great... More

This is not a 5 star place and is really only for couples looking for the bear basics: a room, bathroom and terrazzo view to take in the glorious Positano coast, and yes thee is wifi. Carlo is a gracious and helpful host. We paid €85 per night with terrazzo €80 if you want without. The €5 breakfast is basic... More

Our family (2 adults & 2 kids, aged 12 & 14yrs) stayed at Maria Luisa for 8 nights (3-11 July) in a quad room. My husband and I nostalgically chose this pensione after recalling a delightful stay 17years ago... We remembered an affable host, a charming room, views, a rooftop terrace and proximity to Fornillo beach; and all those things... More
