This was a fantastic place to stay! Cheaper than most places, Carlo made everyone feel very much at home and was always on hand to help. Very clean rooms and the rooms with terraces were definitely worth the extra 5 euros. I would recommend this as a place to stay and we will definitely be going back. more

A bit of a trek to get to but def worth while. You have to walk thru the main town to get to it, but you get to see what a wonderful place Positano is! It's clean & easy going. Carlos is a character (owner) & the cats are friendly (one took a liking to my boyfriend) but not all... more

What a gem! Great view. Ask for one of the rooms with a view of the ocean. We stayed in one of those and had a wonderful time. Good value for money in this expensive town. It did smell of catpiss in the corridor but the rooms were clean. I would definately recommend! more

We have just had 3 great nights at the Maria Luisa. I can't think of one negative comment. The room was clean and comfortable and the view fantastic. We paid an extra 5 euros for a private balcony and it was worth it. It was easy to find as we were given good directions by the owners. There were 2... more

I stayed there for 2 nights and didn't want to leave. We had a room with a private terrace which was wonderful. Carlo, the owner was very sweet and helpful which made the stay all the more enjoyable. The pensione is also a very close to the beach, just a 5 minute walk down some stairs. The name is painted... more

Although Positano is rather hard to get to, you will be rewarded for your dilligence. The pensione is located a short walk from the "Grotto Fornillo" Positano bus stop. We reserved a room with a balcony and was not disappointed.....beautiful! Our room had it's own bath and was restocked daily with towels. It was clean and well kept for it'... more

We stayed at Maria Luisa in Sept 2006 based on the great reviews on Tripadvisor. Pros: Carlo is very nice and accommodating View from balcony is fantastic Good location and value Cons; Almost non existent water pressure and hot water Disgusting smell in bathroom (room 5) Cats that make a very smelly mess in reception and everywhere else Bath towels... more

Arriving by car, Positano is very confusing ... the streets (Via) are paths so no driving there. Leave the car in day-parking .. a bit of a mission to get bags down to hotel & up stairs but with your own private terrace overlooking the Med; all is forgiven. Plenty of handy restaurants, lots of shopping, day trips, grocery shops,... more

If you are interested in staying in Positano without spending a fortune, then this pensione is perfect. The owner, Carlo is so sweet and helpful. He explained everything to us i.e the easiest way to get down to the beach, where to get the bus, how to get to Pompeii etc. We met people that were staying at some 3... more

My average rating of this Pensione may not impress you, but if you are on a budget and are looking to stay in Positano, this is a great deal. By the time I booked the room, there were no rooms w/ balconies, so got a room in the back. It was roomy and we asked for a fan and slept... more
