My husband and I spent three days at Il San Pietro. I cannot say enough about this spot, it is heaven on earth. From the moment you walk in to the lobby, you can not get over the breathtaking views from every vantage point. We arrived quite early in the morning so our room was not ready but we enjoyed... more

We arrived here after a week of vigorous travel around Southern Italy (exploring ancient sites, tasting local wines, etc). On our first evening, we read the local guide book and picked out the ancient ruins we would explore. When we awoke the next morning, plans changed. The delicious torpor of the San Pietro had sucked us in! We laid on... more

The location is the best out of all the Amalfi Coast luxury hotels. You are near Positano via the free hotel car shuttle (walking there is scary and several times I had to flatten my body against a wall to keep from getting crushed by buses) So take the luxury hotel car if you want shopping and other restaurants in... more

I always read the Trip Advisor reviews before choosing the hotels of my trip, but this is only the second time that I write a review and the reason is only because my experience of the hotel differ from the rating of the reviews, and I stayed for four nights. I suggest to read the review posted in October 11th,... more

This hotel is over the hill. Its obvious that they have not bothered to reinvest the any of the money they make from the astronomical room rates into modernizing the hotel. The rooms feel like 1970, the lobby like 1975. The gym maybe 1980. The staff was incredibly stuck up. (My favorite moment was when I asked about local restaurants... more

My wife and I stayed at the Il San Pietro during our honeymoon in May 2009. We were coming off of stays at the Four Seasons in Chicago and the Palazzo Sasso in Ravello. Going into our stay at the Il San Pietro, we knew that it was going to have its hands full to meet the exceptional levels in... more

We had a fantastic all to brief stay at Il San Pietro last week. Our room (#5) had a beautiful view of Positano, huge balcony and enormous bathroom. Furnishings were very nice and comfortable. Breakfast on the terrace- a dream. Service was wonderful including excellent advice from the front desk for hiking, free loan of tennis raquets and balls, etc.... more

I stayed at San Pietro in September of 2008 with my wife and mother-in-law...It was my third trip to the hotel and it is my favorite seaside hotel in Europe...The hotel is literally built into a rocky ledge about 2km outside of Positano...There are stunning views from every room and common area...The finish of the common areas and rooms are... more
