Hotel in Positano in the Heaven of Amalfi’s Coast To climb heavenwards it is also possible to use the steps: those of the mythical ”Scalinatella” which, from Punta Reginella lead to the high part of Positano. Two flights and here you are in a wonderful paradise called Hotel Casa Albertina. On entering through the grandiose entrance door, go onto one of the many terraces and enjoy the breathtaking view: below you will see the famous “Spiaggia delle Sirene”, and in front, the suggestive ridge of Praiano, while higher still, climbs the “Sentiero degli Dei” where the local christians took refuge during the cruel Saracen invasions. As always, the delightful Cinque family, the owners, will be at hand to ensure your total comfort during this stay in this wonderful hotel set in the mountains perched over the sea. lf you really want to “take in the history” why not ask for the room which at one time, when it was still a typical house of Positano before being transformed into a hotel.

The best view from a hotel room ever? Casa Albertina, without a doubt. When I opened the terrace doors of our room at Casa Albertina and took in the panoramic view of Positano and the ocean, actual tears came to my eyes. It is so jaw-droppingly beautiful. The stunning view is just one reason to choose Casa Albertina when visiting Positano. Another is the wonderful breakfast buffet on a balcony overlooking the ocean. I really appreciated not having to leave the hotel for breakfast, and the view was magical. I will miss having cappuccinos and pastries on that terrace forever! Every time we came into the small lobby we were greeted cheerfully by the staff, who were happy to make recommendations or provide assistance. Our room was cool and quiet, and pretty spacious. Really, the only downside of Casa Albertina is the walk to get there. The hotel is located higher on the hill, and the hike up and down is no joke, especially in the heat. We had to make careful decisions about coming and going, it wasn't like you could just pop back to your room to grab something you forgot. It was a long, hard climb that required a shower afterwards. This is going to be true of most hotels in Positano, though. Work on your cardio before you arrive! Also, consider the number of bags you bring. We arrived at Casa Albertina in a car, and the driver helped us bring our bags up the stairs to the hotel. Leaving Positano, we took the ferry, and needed to lug our suitcases (two carry-on size bags each) down the stairs to the beach. It was doable, but fewer bags will make it easier to get around in general. Overall, we loved our time at Casa Albertina and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again and take in that dreamy view.

My wife found Casa Albertina online, but I booked and coordinated our trip. Our trip could not have been more wonderful from day one until we left. The staff was exceptional and the breakfast was delicious. For my wife, who doesn't eat breakfast, Andrea was the best part . . . he delivered her pot of coffee to the room every morning we were there. They booked our pick-up at the Naples train station, which went flawlessly. They also made and adjusted restaurant reservations for us . . . they can book virtually anything you might want to do while on the Amalfi Coast. Our room was beautiful and had a magnificent view of Positano, the Grande Marina and the coastline. The sunrises looked like postcard pictures and the city twinkled at night as we sipped wine on our balcony. We were treated like special visitors from the moment we arrived. Our sincere thanks to the management and staff . . . Casa Albertina will be our home away from home the next time we are in Positano.

Wow! What a perfect 3 night stay in Positano. Casa Albertina was a sweet paradise to come back to each evening, waking up to our personal balcony view was a dream. We stayed on the 3rd floor and although we explored Positano during our stay, nothing beat the views from Casa Albertina. We were so impressed with how well kept every corner of the hotel and rooms were. Everything was pristine, and we appreciated the little added touches like robes, slippers, soaps, and mini bar. We enjoyed cocktails each night on the rooftop bar, and breakfast with a perfect view each morning. When you search Positano these are the views you are dreaming of. Even if you don’t get a room with a balcony or a personal view, it’s still the best because you will have plenty of opportunity to enjoy the spectacular view at breakfast or from the rooftop or third floor lounge area. The website says you “come as guests and leave as family” and we really feel that way. The owner at the front took great care of us and every other guest he interacted with.. we had our luggage taken care of, car services called if needed..and personally I loved the 24 hour person at the front desk. As an added bonus Andrea the waiter will take care of you at breakfast each morning, he made us feel so welcomed. The location is also very well appointed, you will have the most incredible lunch right downstairs at Da Vincenzo and really appreciate the location once you start to walk around. We were on our honeymoon, I would say it’s perfect for couples or any type of trip really. If you review Casa Albertina poorly I really think you will not enjoy Positano no matter what because we are very particular and to us it was perfect.

The pillows were the hardest I've ever used! Like lumps of rocks! Apart from that the bed was comfortable. The room (paintwork/desk) had seen better days but everything worked fine. Not sure why there were bathmats at the side of the bed though. We booked a room 'without special view' which means you don't have a view at all. Might have been nice to have known in advance. I didn't take a photo as it was so upsetting. The 'orange juice' at breakfast tastes like a soluble vitamin drink and I'd be surprised it contained any oranges! On the upside, the welcome was very warm and the roof terrasse was the perfect place to have cocktails and enjoy the fabulous view. We walked up with our bags from the port - it's a long way up, but we knew this in advance. Positano is a good work out!

Absolutely perfect! The room size was great for a European room (usually tiny). THE VIEWS OH MY! Those balconies are worth staying here alone. Loved to end the night with a bottle of wine and those views. Obviously, get ready to walk a million stairs but perfect location otherwise. There is a great cafe at the bottom of the hotel to grab lunch if you don't want to do the trek down to the beach. Hotel offers free breakfast if you want to be really lazy. The front desk was very helpful, when needed. I would 100% return here again. Great hotel and very affordable!

My fiancé and I absolutely loved our stay at Casa Albertina. The room was very nice and clean, and the staff was kind and attentive. We got the superior sea view terrace room and the view from our balcony was INCREDIBLE. Free breakfast every morning was lovely and better than other hotel breakfasts we've had before. This was one of the more affordable hotel options we found in Positano, but definitely exceeded all our expectations. We plan to stay here again next time we're in Positano!

It's hard to separate out my feelings about the hotel as a building from my feelings about the experience my mum and I had here. The hotel itself is nice and the views are beautiful. This is why we booked and paid in full for summer 2020, a year in advance. When COVID hit, we were grateful to the hotel for allowing us to move the booking to the following summer, and they told me by email the rates would be the same. Unfortunately the next summer, we still couldn't travel due to COVID, and the hotel moved the booking to summer 2022. We should have been able to travel then but my sister was terminally ill; I let the hotel know as early as I could that we would not be able to travel and why (this was a couple of months in advance of the travel dates), and again they kindly allowed me to move them. I thanked them profusely and stated in one of my (many) emails that we understood if there was a price difference. At no time did the hotel mention the price to us again, or respond directly when I mentioned it. In 2023, the hotel contacted me to confirm we would travel in June, and I replied immediately that we would. I re-confirmed our room type and thanked them again for their kindness. When no change to the price was mentioned at this point, my mum and I took (or mistook as it turns out) it for incredible kindness, perhaps in light of our recent bereavement. We were so glad we had booked with a 'family' hotel. We brought a box of chocolates when we checked in and thanked them all for their kindness. The manager checked us in and we were told about the city tax we would need to pay on check-out; nothing more as regards payment was said, either then or during our 1-week stay. Sadly, after what we had thought was a lovely week, I went to pay our minibar and city tax bill on the morning we were checking out. I can't describe my confusion when the manager handed me a bill for almost €800 instead of the €100 or so I'd been expecting. It was in Italian so I didn't understand and clarified that we had paid our room rate in full at the time of booking. At this point- for the very first time- the manager advised that "of course" prices had gone up since we booked in 2019. For perspective, the almost €700 increase constituted almost 40% extra of the price we had originally paid, for one room for one week. As the hotel had told us the rates would be the same for 2021 as for 2020, this increase appeared to have accumulated between summer 2022 and summer 2023 only. We understand things have gotten more expensive everywhere, but this seemed extreme as the hotel is the same one we booked (we were told some rooms had been renovated but not the floor we were on). With a taxi on the way to take us to the airport, I was completely flustered and just paid the additional fee. We left devastated at this ending. Please let me be clear- while the price increase is steep, it isn't what bothered us. The issue was that the manager of this hotel communicated with me for years, checked us in, and never once mentioned this change in price until check-out. It felt underhanded and designed to leave us in a position where we couldn't argue. We remain appreciative that the hotel allowed us to move our booking through COVID and a bereavement. We just wish they had been honest with us about the terms of this. I sent him an email on our return home which he responded to with apologies if the communication was unclear. I went back through every email I had with the hotel- the communication was not unclear. There was simply no mention of their rate increase by them. This was the hotel's responsibility. He told me the booking we made was transferred to future bookings as a 'voucher'- this was never communicated to me. I understood that we had changed the dates, and at no point was I told our fully pre-paid booking was being taken as a voucher only. Letting the customer know the price of the service in advance is a basic (and I should add- legal) responsibility, one which the hotel sadly let themselves- and us- down on. If I had the heart to pursue legal advice I would, but in the context of a tough couple of years I can't be bothered dragging this unpleasant experience out. Positano is full of beautiful hotels. This is a very nice one, sadly I could never recommend it to anyone based on this experience.

This hotel was fantastic we wouldn’t have thought it was 3 star. Staff were very friendly and the hotel was very clean. The view from the room was absolutely incredible! Breakfast was nice sat on the terrace overlooking positano. The 70 steps up to the hotel were manageable, don’t let them put you off staying at this great hotel.

I booked this hotel because of the reasonable price for Positano and the view from the room, but the hotel rooms are very dated and not great. There's no modern conveniences in the hotel, which can be overlooked a little bit because it's Positano and not a big city, but for the price overall the hotel could be better. Mini split for A/C, no mini fridge and no food allowed in the rooms (hindsight because of bugs although I didn't see any), tiny TV that hardly worked....again all of these things were no big deal because we weren't in our room long anyway, but it just wasn't the best experience we had. Would not book again or recommend. Go ahead and splurge on a nicer hotel if this is your honeymoon.

This hotel really exceeded our expectations. My wife and I went into it thinking it wouldn't be all that great since it was not as expensive as others. However, for someone who did not want to spend $1,500+ USD per night, this was a great option. We had a spacious clean room, a view which overlooked famous Positano and friendly staff who helped arrange food options/transportation.
