Other reviews have said it but I will say again, the hospitality here is five star. Giovanni and his family welcomed us with open arms (literally) and we had such a wonderful time. We didn't realise initially that Barilotto was outside of the main town (5 min drive) but in fact this was perfect. There are two great beaches within... More

Mr. Giovanni and his family own this restaurant and cannot do enough to please every guest. We went to Positano for our sons wedding and ended up having the rehearsal dinner here. Food prepared perfectly. The bruschetta is out of this world plus the homemade tiramisu was to die for! Highly recommend this wonderful restaurant with marvelous views!!! Plus we... More

My 20-year old daughter and I stayed at Al Barilotto del Nonno for the first 9 nights of our trip to Italy in May 2014. The location was great as a home base to explore Positano and the Amalfi Coast, and our visit here was the absolute highlight of our entire trip. The room was clean, spacious, and had a... More

We stayed at this charming property after reading the reviews and we are happy to say that it exceeded all expectations. From the moment you enter to the time you leave Mr. Giovanni and his family makes it so memorable. He told us this was our home & treated us like family. The newly renovated room on the top floor... Took my partner to Positano for his 40th as he always dreamed of visiting Pompeii, this was our little bit of luxury! - Giovanni cannot do enough to please, sea views are outstanding and the home cooked food is just out of this world - exceeded all expectations. This is a reasonably priced stay and worth every penny, I would... More

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at Barilotto last August and could not have been happier. Giovanni and his family were the beyond warm and accommodating hosts and immediately made us feel like part of their family. Initially, we stayed in one of the standard rooms but decided to move to a premium room for the remainder... More

We have been staying at this residency for twenty three years now, at times twice a year. They have amazing food, a wonderful family and rooms that are reasonably priced. Enjoy the view from any room and smell the wonderful food cooking to perfection.

We booked a superior room and here's what we got - a gleaming blue and white room, fresh new bathroom with a decent sized shower, and a deck facing the sea with 2 loungers and ceramic table. Soundproof sliding doors with shutters to the deck meant zero street noise. Quiet AC. New elevator to these rooms. Flawlessly clean. Good wifi.... More

Our five-night stay was most enjoyable. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the sea. Giovanni and his family (Rachele, Filippo, & Mario) were so personable, thoughtful, and attentive to our every need. Giovanni graciously drove us into Positano a couple of times and was very helpful in suggesting daily itineraries. He was warm and cheerful... More

Lets make it simple: *The place is clean, beautiful and with an excellent location *the family that runs the hotel lead by Giovanni makes it an excellent value for money, with a combination of hospitality, extremely useful tips regarding the area, excellent food at the hotel restaurant and most of all honesty and true caring for your well being and...
