We stayed in Room 5 – I think what is meant to be the best room - for 4 days in June. We paid full rate so it wasn’t a cheap break. On arriving my original reaction was disappointment in that while the room was quite large it did not feel as grand as anticipated. The two balconies are barely... more

We loved this hotel! Light and airy rooms, with a white and green decor, and tall ceilings--very spacious and inviting! A large bathroom, tasteful furnishings, and, in a nice change from other hotels in a comparable price range, plenty of dresser space and room for bags. A specific recommendation is that you request rm 32 in corner of the new... more

I stayed here for three days in early June 2007 as part of a 10 trip to the Amalfi coast. We were on our honeymoon and were not disappointed. While the hotel is expensive, the most expensive one we stayed in while in Rome/Amalfi coast, the hotel is very luxurious. The staff were very helpful and the location of the... more

We stayed at the Palazzo Murat from June 6 through the 9th.The hotel was very clean & the staff couldn't have been more friendly & helpful. The hotel is lovely & the location is quite convenient in a quaint area - near both the beach & the shopping area, both an easy walk . This is important if you want... more

5 years ago this was a wonderful place to be. Now, the restaurant is more crowded and focused on money instead of service, including "picture perfect food". Now in need of Internet on this visit, I was surprised that Plazzo Marut charged a high fee for the usage of their Internet by the minute. Some hotels do, but the Internet... more

I would agree with the generality of the other reviews. Positano is expensive. Centrally located hotels will not be cheap. If you arrive by ferry as we did this hotel is easy to find. It is an oasis of calm in the busy central area of the town with a pleasant garden and amazing history. Room no. 1 is in... more

The Hotel Palazzo Murat is located in the center of town, just steps from restaurants, shopping and the beach. The location is convenient and makes traveling back and forth from the beach and the hotel a breeze. However, in my opinion the best part of Positano are the sweeping views of the cliffside town and the ocean.... the Palazzo Murat... more

As part of our nine day stay on the Amalfi Coast in April, we spent a pleasant three night stay at the Hotel Palazzo Murat in Positano, a beautiful vertical town that cascades down into the sea. The Palazzo Murat is in an ideal position, a short walk and about halfway between the very small main town square and the... more

We stayed here for 4 nights last August (2006). Aside from all the "romantic" reviews, this was a very practical choice. It is low in the town so walking around is very easy (compared to Sirenuse which is much further up the hill). They prepared our room about three times a day and were always very polite. The balcony and... more

We had never been to the Amalfi Coast, but from what we understand in regards to the summer heat and the tourists, November was a great time to go. The weather was comfortable (probably low-70's during the day), and the town wasn't packed with people. Also, we had rented a car and were able to park quite close to the... more
