We went on a deal which made it affordable, normal price would have been too much I think. The staff are wonderful, the service great, its clean and the food really good for the most part. It is rated 4 star but it needs to be redecorated and modernized to be on par with the prices they charge. The gym... More

This hotel is well located, within 15 min walking distance from the center of Porto Venere. Has very good views, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is ok (nice fruit selection!). The pool is nice, with a great view over the bay. However, the air conditioning is awfull, very noisy and the air is barely cooler then ambient temperature.... More

we did not believe the bad comments on this hotel, but indeed so many bad things, this hotel rates only a poor 3stars,especially because of the ugly furniture (was modern in 1950?)and the very old fashioned way of cooking in the restaurant(p;ex white schrimps with cocktail sauce (was very trendy in the 60ties)the very little changes in the menus on 3 days;... We spent a week here the end of May and it was wonderful! The staff was great and the breakfast buffets huge and varied. We were with a small group and this was our basis for visiting the Cinque Terre. Portovenre is a short picturesque walk to the center from the hotel from where you can take a ferry to... More

We traveled in a group of 3 so booked a room with an extra bed. We were glad to see that the extra bed was actually an extra bedroom, but the bed was so hard it was not usable. We pulled an outdoor chair inside and made a bed with sofa cushions. The shower was not workable. Their response to... More

We stayed at the Royal Sporting Hotel for three nights in October. It was a bit past the tourist season so things in Portovenere were comparitively quiet. The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from the center of town and many of the rooms have a beautiful view of the water and the island across the channel. The... More

The hotel is a short walk to the main town with restaurants right on the water. Hotel has a nice swimming pool and breakfast is served overlooking pool and water. Need to take a bus or cab from la spezia station.

Hotel was nicely located, spend 2 nights there, distances for activities were good. Views were great from the balcony & terrace. Breakfast was good, fresh fruits available, also allergies were taken into account for specific persons. Also dined at the restaurant, local pasta, fish and meat dishes were tasty. Wine prices at the restaurant were a bit high, but there... More

Our family of 4 stayed here for 5 nights. The views are second to none. Breakfast on the terrace each morning was wonderful. Staff could have been more helpful and rooms could use a little up date. Overall a good experience.

Extremely well located but do not get fooled by Italian hotels stars. This one would deserve 3 if not 2 stars. Old fashioned up to the design, awful music of poor quality on the pool, very average breakfast. They vacuum noisily the corridors early in the morning and wake you up (maybe to be able to clean your room sooner).... More
