Breakfast is the first thing I will mention. .. It was great! Buffet style but selection was good and presented well. The pool was a winner and we really enjoyed a couple of relaxing days. This is a typical Italian seaside hotel and a good one at that. Floors were tiled on room and nothing really exceptional to speak of... More

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel. The location is slightly out of the town but is only still a 5 minute walk. We had a sea view room with a balcony, the view is simply tremendous and out of this world. The bedroom was large enough for our needs with plenty of... More

We stayed one night at the hotel. We had a room with ocean view and were pleased. We arrived early and we're able to store our luggages and park our car. The parking costs 20 € per day. The town of Portovenere is nice and tranquil. This town is one of our favorites on our trip in Tuscany. And walking... More

This whole area, Portovenere, must have been fashionable in the twenties or thirties. But it is not now. This hotel is ancient, the rooms have wooden doors that have to be locked from the inside with a big, heavy old type key. Luckily, the room did have a large balcony overlooking the port and sea. The lobby is dark, a... More

My husband booked this before checking out trip advisor having read it before our imminent arrival we were worried. Everything said is true, the hotel is tired and tatty looking, the staff are miserable only saying hello once spoken to and never smiling, the breakfast is very basic. However the setting and location are superb. I believe the only reason... More

Very clean hotel. They actually cleaned all the time! From 0730 in the morning until late night. We stayed with a nice terrace looking out on the pool and the bay. Great view. Do invest the extra euros to get the view instead of staying in a room facing the back of the hotel. Very well located within walking distance... More

We went on a deal which made it affordable, normal price would have been too much I think. The staff are wonderful, the service great, its clean and the food really good for the most part. It is rated 4 star but it needs to be redecorated and modernized to be on par with the prices they charge. The gym... More

This hotel is well located, within 15 min walking distance from the center of Porto Venere. Has very good views, the rooms are clean and the breakfast is ok (nice fruit selection!). The pool is nice, with a great view over the bay. However, the air conditioning is awfull, very noisy and the air is barely cooler then ambient temperature.... More

we did not believe the bad comments on this hotel, but indeed so many bad things, this hotel rates only a poor 3stars,especially because of the ugly furniture (was modern in 1950?)and the very old fashioned way of cooking in the restaurant(p;ex white schrimps with cocktail sauce (was very trendy in the 60ties)the very little changes in the menus on 3 days;... We spent a week here the end of May and it was wonderful! The staff was great and the breakfast buffets huge and varied. We were with a small group and this was our basis for visiting the Cinque Terre. Portovenre is a short picturesque walk to the center from the hotel from where you can take a ferry to... More
