Beautiful resort and hotel really good, spotlessly clean, and food very good too. Very relaxing and staff really helpful but not intrusive. Also just a short walking distance from Portovenere. breakfast basic but adequate just a little warning, we were there in July, many many mosquitos!

We were forced to stay here because of short plans holiday. The structure is really out of fashion and both food and rooms seems needing of a "refresh". Breakfast is ok but seriously not enough for a 4 stars hotel. 15 minutes walking from the village.

We actually thought the Royal Sporting Hotel was a nice, quaint hotel. We were with a tour group and we were fortunate to get a room with a balcony and a nice view. In front of the hotel is a nice promenade along the waters edge that leads you to the main part of town. Probably a 10 minute walk.... More

Breakfast is the first thing I will mention. .. It was great! Buffet style but selection was good and presented well. The pool was a winner and we really enjoyed a couple of relaxing days. This is a typical Italian seaside hotel and a good one at that. Floors were tiled on room and nothing really exceptional to speak of... More

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel. The location is slightly out of the town but is only still a 5 minute walk. We had a sea view room with a balcony, the view is simply tremendous and out of this world. The bedroom was large enough for our needs with plenty of... More

We stayed one night at the hotel. We had a room with ocean view and were pleased. We arrived early and we're able to store our luggages and park our car. The parking costs 20 € per day. The town of Portovenere is nice and tranquil. This town is one of our favorites on our trip in Tuscany. And walking... More

This whole area, Portovenere, must have been fashionable in the twenties or thirties. But it is not now. This hotel is ancient, the rooms have wooden doors that have to be locked from the inside with a big, heavy old type key. Luckily, the room did have a large balcony overlooking the port and sea. The lobby is dark, a... More

My husband booked this before checking out trip advisor having read it before our imminent arrival we were worried. Everything said is true, the hotel is tired and tatty looking, the staff are miserable only saying hello once spoken to and never smiling, the breakfast is very basic. However the setting and location are superb. I believe the only reason... More

Very clean hotel. They actually cleaned all the time! From 0730 in the morning until late night. We stayed with a nice terrace looking out on the pool and the bay. Great view. Do invest the extra euros to get the view instead of staying in a room facing the back of the hotel. Very well located within walking distance... More

We went on a deal which made it affordable, normal price would have been too much I think. The staff are wonderful, the service great, its clean and the food really good for the most part. It is rated 4 star but it needs to be redecorated and modernized to be on par with the prices they charge. The gym... More
