OK, IF you are the type that demands 5-star pampered luxury in order to enjoy yourself, do everyone (including yourself) a favor and don't even think about Cinque Terre and especially Portovenere. We spent 5 nights at the Grand Hotel for our wedding and honeymoon in September 2008 and were very pleased!! Our room was sea view with balcony, and wow what a balcony it was. Our view of Portovenere was just out of this world. The room itself was your average room, nothing particularly special, but the balcony was very spacious.... more

This hotel is the worth we stayed for a long long time. I don't even understand why people are rating it with 4. This is a terribile hotel!!! The elevator is a joke, it is probably 20 years old...
