This hotel is in a great location within walking distance of many wonderful restaurants, the cathedral and just about anything else there is to see in Orvieto. Be forewarned that the rooms and hotel are basic with older beds, old fixtures and bathrooms down the hall. That being said, the room had some lovely vintage furniture; was wonderfully warm on... I've stayed a couple of times, the second during some building work but both times it has been charming, comfortable place to stay in the middle of an amazingly beautiful town. It has the feel of a boutiquey type hotel, it looks a bit shabby and unassuming but matches the feel of the town.

I liked this place. It is located in the old city and is very convenient to everything we wanted to see. The room was comfortable. As for the clock tower that everyone likes to complain about, yes, it rings every 15 minutes. It has been ringing every 15 minutes since the 1300's. It seems kind of sad to complain about... More

If we had checked the map we would have noticed that Hotel Posta is located a block away from the bell tower Torre del Morro, and another bell tower... one or the other rings ever 15 minutes! 24 hours a day! Mattresses too firm for my taste, typical of european hotels with just a couple stars. I do better on... More

I stayed at Hotel Posta just one night and it was fine. The room was large but the bathroom small. It was comfortable but sparse. Nothing to write home about in terms of amenities but in a very convenient location and the good price was a welcome change!

First time traveling to Orvieto and I stayed at Hotel Posta. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the funiculare with nice shops along the way. There is a supermercato in front of the hotel which was extremely helpful! The hotel is right near the Duomo. A 30 second walk to the Duomo! The bells ring every fifteen... More

We stayed one night at Hotel Posta to be close to everything in Orvieto, and for a break on the budget. We were not disappointed. The room was basic, but clean and comfortable. Our room faced the garden and the church bells, but having heard about them, we closed the windows and shutters and had earplugs and slept solidly through... More

I have been to Orvieto a number of times and I love it but I have never stayed so close to the Duomo before and I am afraid I would not stay so close again. The bells toll every 15 minutes all through the night, and it is very hard to sleep through them. Apart from that, the rooms were... More

Hotel Posta is a safe bet in a central location for budget travelers. Others have mentioned the church bells, but I wasn't bothered by them at all. The desk clerk, Alessia, is a hip young woman who's charming, friendly and helpful. My single room was spotless, and although basic, it had a pleasant atmosphere and a comfortable bed. I'd stay... A lovely hotel, with atmospheric, pretty rooms. Friendly staff. Just a few minutes' walk from the Duomo, and the beautiful piazza there. Room comes complete with an ensuite containing an actual bath, and is clean and comfortable. Other reviews have mentioned the damn bells from churches and towers which rang every 15 minutes right through the night, but I guess... More
