Exceptionally good service: we had a problem with our lost documents, the staff were very helpful sorting everything out for us. Excellent location for motorists, easy to find and free parking. The room was of reasonable size, had a lovely balcony, very clean. Fantastic homemade cakes for breakfast and excellent coffee. Definitely would stay there again and recommend to everybody... More

We stayed for one night at this hotel, and everything was outstanding! Our room was in the new building, was big, very clean, and had a balcony with a nice view. The furniture in the room was new, and we appreciated the wooden floor, much better than the usual carpet floor. But the best of this hotel is the breakfast,... More

It is not really a hotel, it looks more like B&B. We stayed 2 nights in a separate building, in a large nice room with a big terrace. We booked an economy room, but were upgraded free of charge and got a superior room with a massage shower. We also got a set of three keys: to the building, to... More

This is really nice place, very reasonably priced, and very closed to the funicular at the base of Ortvieto. It has GREAT breakfasts with all you can eat yummy stuff and made for you coffee drinks. The women who run the place are supper sweet and helpful.

We decided to stay at this Hotel as it was near the station and not far from the Funicular that takes you up to the old town. If arriving by train as we were be aware that this nice little hotel is a little way up quite a steep hill which continues on up to the old town of Orvieto,... More

I was a little concerned when I exited the A1 and saw the rows of shabby looking hotels that lined the main street below the city walls. But, I was pleasantly relieved when I pulled up to Hotel Picchio, and the experience improved from there. Julia greeted me and graciously tolerated my poor attempts at speaking in Italian. But, we... We stayed here on October 8th on the way from home to Rome. The choice was due to the fact this Hotel is located near the railway station. However we'd never repeat this experience. The room we got had a peculiar smell of rotten eggs and sewage which stayed with us the whole night. The kind landlady suggested to let... More

We stayed for three nights.Julia and her staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. The room in the new accomodation was spacious, clean and comfortable and we had a small balcony we enjoyed. The highlight was the breakfast and the delicious home baking which gave fresh choices daily. JUlia could give Nancy Birtwhistle (winner of the great British Bake Off) some... More

An English speaking lady provided information while checking us in at 1PM. She escorted us to the garage, up to our room, then provided keys for the 2 night stay. This well managed family hotel complex provides spotless, modern, and quiet rooms at a reasonable price. The full breakfast was complimented by an array of delicious homemade baked goods. Its...
