Clearly a lot of fake english reviews here. Anyone who thinks this hotel is central should look at Google maps and while you are at it check street view, I promise you its worse inside. Breakfast consisted of the most low rent ingredients fathomable. Think sugar based breads and youre on on track. Ps if management respond with any untruths... More

Location is good...close enough to the highway, and 5-10 min. walk to the train station / funicular. Good grocery store close by. Hotel itself was nothing to write home about. It was a bit dated, though reasonably clean. WIFI was poor at best. Breakfast was the worst we had in 2 weeks in Italy. Happy to leave after 2 nights.... More

We booked this hotel based on the reviews here, ie it was in a great location, handy to everything; it was very clean and good value. What a surprise. From the outside it was obviously not in a great location on a busy road several kilometres from Orvieto and it looked particularly grimy. But we had booked and paid in... More

If you want an authentic Italian hotel experience, this is it! The staff are very friendly and helpful, the hotel is in walking distance of many interesting parts of Orvieto, including the rail way to Orvieto Alto, which you don't want to miss either. The Hotel Umbria is very clean and well equiped, and the ristorante has a great menu.... More

pros: - near the autostrada - very reasonable cost for parking - good food in the restaurant - short walk (5 to 10 minutes) from the funicular to reach the city - good price cons: - rooms facing the street could be noisy - interior is dated - rooms have the basics but not much more - air conditioning was... We were very well treated. The accomodations were very clean, comfortable and centrally located.. The attached restaurant was exceptional. The staff - both hotel and restaurant - were very polite, helpful, and professional. Overall we had a very pleasant stay.

My dad and I stayed here on an epic motorbike tour around Europe (10,000 miles in 2.5 months). Up until this point we had not had the most positive experiences in Italy, but the Hotel Umbria more then made up for it. We stayed here for two nights, using it as a base to train it into Roma for the... More

There's nothing special about this place- no view, uninspired surroundings in the modern lower town of Orvieto Scalo, dated decor. But it's perfectly functional and convenient to the A1 motorway. There was an elevator and it worked, our room was normal-sized (for Italy) and even had a small flat-screen TV with BBC. The bath was fine - stall shower was... More

We stayed in Ristorante Hotel Umbria for one night. It was right off the tollway, which was good for us because we had to drive to Rome early the next morning. However, if you want to spend alot of time walking around Orvieto, this would not be a good place to stay. We had a five/ten minute drive uphill into... More
