We spent one night at the Hotel Villa Ciconia during our recent trip to Italy. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful making our check-in a breeze. Our room was spacious and clean. The continental breakfast the following morning more than met our needs. I would definitely recommend the villa if you are planning on spending some time in... More

It was a good alternative, not far from Orvieto center. The house is beautiful, spacious rooms, very neat and clean. The service was fine, all attentive and friendly. Overall good, but not much charm, considering its potencial.

This large former private villa/home is just outside Orvieto's walls. Great if you have a car as Orvieto is more parking friendly than other walked cities we visited. Trickier if you don't have a car. They had a great restaurant onsite that served an excellent meal. The painted paneled ceiling was beautiful! There is a pool that looked inviting but... More

This is a good alternative to stay in Orvieto, although it is about 10 minutes by car from the walled city. Ciconia is the town and the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are very spacious, the service is great. We only spend the night and a breakfast as we were the whole day in Orvieto.

We stayed at this charming hotel for four nights in early May at the beginning of our Italian holiday. It was like living in a manor house. I seem to remember that it was built in the 16th century and had maintained the character - tapestries, huge stone fireplaces and doorways, high beamed ceilings and metal four poster beds. Our... I would love to return here in cooler weather. The food is tremendous, the grounds are quite beautiful and the view is fabulous. The staff is friendly and kind. This is a working farm with riding lessons and products for sale. It's a bit out-of-the-way and as I said I would not recommend going there and hot weather.

In the guestbook someone wrote: I came here for one night and stayed for 3 weeks...I wish I could have put my name under that comment. Very attentive service, great and beautiful rooms in a quiet atmosphere. you have to know It's a little bit remote from most tourist poles of attraction but it's part of the relaxing charm. They... To get to our room is an adventure of stairs, oak beams, rooms leading off everywhere - you really wouldn't be surprised to find Narnia in the back of the wardrobe. We had a four-poster bed and lovely fluffy towels in abundance. The ceiling in the dining room is amazing and the fireplace is alleged to be one of Scalza's... More

This was our favorite stay during our family trip to Italy. The Villa itself is like 400 years old but the rooms are as modern and comfortable as you can get yet you feel that you are in a historical place!! They have done a great job or restoring the whole facility. The Villa has twelve rooms and it is... More

For a family of 4 we had a mostly good experience. The pool stood out on a hot day. We also liked the location away from town in a park-like atmosphere. The attached restaurant was quite good. The service was friendly. Not so good: my wife didn't think the bed was very comfortable. And the air conditioning was weak. But... More
