Our room here was really small. We reserved a triple even though it was just 2 of us, and it was still cramped - basically 3 twin beds at odd angles with a narrow "path" from one to another. We could not even pass each other. Location right on Piazza is nice. There is an outside "cafe like" seating area... More

The staff at Hotel Virgilio are what makes this place a wonderful place to stay. Sure, the location is also fabulous but the professionalism and the way the staff go about making your stay wonderful cannot be ignored. Particularly the young woman on reception...nothing was too much trouble. My room, the Mesenzio, was large and well cleaned each morning. Breakfast... More

It's so worth the trip to Orvieto - a beautiful hilltop town. The Virgilio is a basic but nice hotel in a brilliant position. Very clean rooms, quiet and comfy bed. The breakfast let it down a bit. Some decent bread (we're in Italy after all!) would have been good instead of the sliced, packaged variety and supermarket cheese slices... More

Very good location and great view from room of the Duomo, parking easy across the square and made a great base for seeing all the sights of Orvieto. We travelled in April and the weather was very warm, but it was quiet at night in the square, not sure how this would be further into the season. Breakfast wasn't all... More

Spent one night in Orvieto and stayed in a basic room overlooking the main church square. Excellent service and support. Included breakfast. Parking is available just across the square. Room was absolutely as advertised and the location was superb.

A plain room, modest size, minimal furniture, but all good quality. Splendid location - we overlooked the cathedral square. The view from our room at night was just magical. Very quiet at night - but this was the end of the season. Comfy bed, chair, small wardrobe, 2 shelves. Good internet. Foyer very nice - all white marble. Have squeezed... More

The hotel is in a prime location opposite the Duomo and close to many of Orvieto's wonderful attractions. Our room was more like a cubby hole than a hotel room and made you feel very boxed in. We had booked a room overlooking the courtyard, but our room was on ground level at the back of the hotel overlooking a... More

On a recent trip to Italy, we had the opportunity to stay in Hotel Virgilio in Orvieto. This hotel was one of the nicest hotels we stayed while traveling. The hotel owner, Paola went out of her way to ensure our trip was perfect. She was as charming as the Hotel itself. The rooms were bright and clean and large... More

Hotel was exceptional in that it was in the heart of all the action. Public parking is available and the staff was efficient and friendly. The only negative was that the elevators were a bit small and one had to make more then a few trips with luggage. Would recommend hotel to anyone looking for a place to spend a... More
