Il Casale degli Amici is a beautiful agriturismo, located just outside Norcia. The location up in the hills means that dinner and breakfast are taken on the terrace, with great views. The agriturismo is very comfortable, our room with ensuite bathroom was spacious, and the swimming pool is now open. Stay half board and enjoy the great local food, with... More

This Agriturismo has the advantage of an arresting countryside location that remains within walking distance of Norcia's historic center -- if you like to amble, even guidebooks judge the distance that way. The homestead also retains the authenticity of a farm in full gear. The downside is that the staff includes individuals with quirky personalities who are not predictable hoteliers.... More

We are so glad we called far enough ahead to be able to book a room for three nights at Il Casale degli Amici!! The food, the friendly service, the spectacular views, and the proximity to Norcia all made it the perfect base for our time exploring the Norcia area and the Sibillini mountains. While the breakfast buffet was more... More

This is the 3rd year in a row I have enjoyed staying at this charming, welcoming agriturismo! A working farm since the 1500's, the Amici family continues to grow many of the products used in the delicious meals served. Rooms are large, simple and comfortable. Meals are served in a classic Italian dining room--stone walls, tile floors, beamed ceilings; the... More

We stayed at this agriturismo the nights of Nov. 1 and 2, 2013, which fell on the All Saints/All Souls weekend, a big holiday in Italy. The name, I believe, is a sort of double entendre, as "amici' means friends, but is also the name of the family that operates the place. the agriturismo is also a very busy dinner... More

My entire family recently spent a couple of nights in Norcia. I had to talk a couple of them into it, as Norcia is not on the standard Tuscan-Umbrian circuit. To a person, we were all very impressed. I would encourage anyone desiring a bit of the true Italy to give this place a try. I stayed here with a... More

Staying at this lovely agriturismo was one of the highlights of our honeymoon in Italy. Ernesto gave us a warm welcome. Our room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. And the home-cooked food was delicious, especially the lasagne with grated truffle. Dining (and breakfasting) in the restaurant was enhanced by the stunning views. And the location is ideal if... We really like this place. Nice homemade Umbrian food and super friendly staff. Is situated some 5 km outside of Norcia and at our first visit they even drove us back to our hotel in Norcia. The second time we visited them we stayed with them and the rooms were also in a good standard.

The title of this review says it all: this farmhouse is stunning, it has been renovated with great attention to details and it is run like an hotel. The property is ideally divided in different areas: the farmyard, the washhouse, the restaurant (where breakfast is also served), the stable and the cowshed. You can visit them all and enjoy the... We have been very late in reviewing this beautiful property due to a variety of reasons - busy at home since returning to Canada. We came (prebooked with references from trip advisor) for a week in May to hike and walk in the Sibillini, photograph wildflowers and enjoy the beauty of this region. We were a bit too early for...
