The location was spectacular and the inn was superb. We stayed 5 nights in Room 1, which was spacious, well appointed, and had plenty of Italian charm. Great small inn at the top of beautiful Montepulciano. We arrived without most of our luggage and Cinzia really went to bat for us. Locanda San Francesco is ideal in many ways. It can be challenging to stay inside of a hilltop town, but here, it has been made possible. Directions were good and there is parking available. La Locanda lives up to the hype of the other TripAdvisor posts, and then exeeds the expectations. Cinzia and Luca are terrific hosts, but it's their attention to detail that propels this property past the rest. .. we started our tuscany trip in locanda san francesco.. we could not have choose more authentic place to stay.. in the middle of medieval town, with a fantastic view of vineyards and countryside and on the other side of the roofs of beautiful town.. We only stayed for 1 night. The views from our room and the bathroom were incredible! The room was very clean. The owner(s) was friendly and ran the bar/restaurant next door. We had drinks and dinner on the deck while watching the sunset. The food was good and priced well. Next time we are in Montepulciano, we'll definitely be back. more
