My wife and I, our 1 year old son, and grandparents have just got back from a fantastic week staying at La Valiana. It is a lovely villa, and truly vast in size. We had the entire groundfloor (2 double bedroom suites) and top floor (1 double bedroom suite with extra lounge), and all the grounds, at our disposal. The... More

We stayed at La Valiana May 24th to the 31st. It is an exceptional property with beautiful views of the countryside and very peaceful. The villa itself is one of the most beautiful homes you will ever see. The detail is amazing the suites are large comfortable rooms, the Jacuzzi tub in one of them is huge, the showers could... More

We stayed at La Valiana in June of 2014 with our (2) children and their friends and it was a wonderful experience. Cecilla and her mother Alma and father Evo were wonderful hosts. They really spent money in the right places to make the home comfortable and well appointed. It is perfect for 6 people. It is in a great... More

Last July we stayed in this villa for 10 days. It was the first time we didn't went on a hotel-sun-beach trip, but once arrived at the villa we didn't regret it for one second! Beautiful surroundings (olive trees, herbs, flowers, quiet valley, etc) in combination with a friendly owner/family. Next to the already booked restaurants and sightseeings the owner... More

She recommended great places to eat and we had a really lovely and relaxing time. Alma's cooking was delicious too and the wine tasting close by was good fun. The scenery is beautiful and the views from the villa were... More

An incredible place to relax and soak up the Tuscan culture. La Valiana has a special place in our hearts with stunning views of the Tuscan landscape, an outstanding winery (Avignonesi) nearby and excellent entertaining areas to forget the stresses of everyday life. My wife, daughters, and son-in-law spent a wonderful week in Tuscany at La Valiana. This is what you dream of when you think of a stay in Tuscany. The villa is beautiful, immaculate, and welcoming. There are three extremely comfortable bedrooms with private baths and very comfortable sitting areas – each with access to the wonderful gardens and grounds. The... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At a few hundred metres from the road that links Montepulciano to Cortona you get to secondary road that runs along the ridge of a hill covered in vineyards. It's right at this point that a secret view is revealed: Tuscany to the left with its soft rolling hills and Umbria to the right, with the stroke of a brush a blue line - Lago Trasimeno. This is the location of a superb Villa, in the very heart of one of the most acclaimed and beautiful parts of Tuscany: among the characteristic town of Montepulciano - famous the world over for its wine 'Nobile di Montepulciano - and the glamour life of Cortona, and even close to the wild and fascinating region of Umbria and Lago Trasimeno. An elegant luxurious Villa with a facade of yellow and Tuscan terracotta, it is resplendent in the morning sunlight which rises over the lake, and at sunset is warm and majestic with its brickwork 'Torretta'. The villa has recently been refurbished and enriched to host a more discerning guest with an eye for beauty as well as comfort. A painstaking restoration by the attentive local craftsmen - using bio-construction methods, natural and prestigious materials - has given this residence a precious charm . This has been further added to by the use of white stone and Tuscan terracotta and ancient exposed beams and by its large arched windows in wrought iron. Viewed from beneath an intricate play of beams, balconies and terraces , extends a vast panorama of rolling hills with lines cypress trees , distant hamlets and row upon row of vineyards scattered with clusters of olive groves. The rooms are marked by a high standard of attention to detail with handcrafted furniture enhanced by prestigious fabrics. Each one with Air Conditioned, free Wi-Fi, and screen. The villa is also equipped with laundry room, dishwasher, I-pod Docking Station, Free Wi-Fi through the villa and by the pool, barbeque, automatic gate. GROUND FLOOR The ground floor of the Villa has 2wo double bedrooms, each with its own small lounge, independent access to the garden and ensuite bathrooms (1 Bathroom with hydromassage shower, but one with a tub with Whirpool). The lounge has a fireplace, and a reading room with porch. A well equipped kitchen leading straight into the gardens. FIRST FLOOR The first floor has one double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with hydromassage shower, a lounge with panoramic views and a small independent cooking area with two beautiful terraces with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. Throughout the Villa large picture windows decorated in wrought iron open onto the vineyard and onto the garden, interspersed with rose tubs, lemon trees , Bouganvillae, plum trees, apple trees, persimonn and figs trees which together emanate a sweet scent reminiscent of the countryside and all things good. Framing the valley are the red roofs of Cortona, the contours of Montepulciano, and the remote outline of Mount Amiata set against a blue canvas of the Tuscan sky. ... more   less
