My wife and I just returned from three weeks in Italy. One of our favorite places to stay was the Meuble Il Riccio in Montepulciano. The service although very professional was very friendly. Ivana and Gio provided wonderful breakfests for us in their tastefully decorated lobby. We enjoyed their hotel, particulary the entrance atrium and their roof terrace. The room... More

Stayed 3 nights here from June 30th to July 2nd and wished it had been longer. As a previous reviewer noted, if you go to the hotel's website, you will get a very good idea of what you will get. The property is very attractive. There are modern features such as air conditioning and a good shower in an old... More

My husband and I stayed two nights in May. We spent almost a month in Italy and this hotel and experience was one of our very favorite. The owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The view from the rooftop is fabulous. Breakfast was wonderful. We were treated like family. We only wish that we had... More

In early June my wife and I spent 4 terrific days in Montepulceane. I am happy to record that this small family run Ill Reccio hotel fully lived up to our expectations. On returning home I decided to check out all 53 reviews before posting this contribution. Apart from one recent very negative entry, it was very pleasing to read... More

The room was not very clean (random hair was found in bathroom, bed). Also, they removed our bags from our room without our consent prior to checkout. It looks as though the signora is all about making her profit with little interest in the happiness of her guests.

This place fully deserves its fine reputation in many Guides. Excellent value and a great position just off the main Square. The Owners were excellent hosts.

Meuble Il Riccio is a Tuscan jewel. It was the highlight of our trip - the surroundings were lovely, location perfect and the hosts very wam and welcoming. We highly recommend it and hope to return soon! E and G, Vancouver, BC

We stayed here for 6 nights in March and found Gio, Ivana & Elena all to be gracious hosts & very helpful too. Be aware that the town can be very difficult to find your way around -- we ended up driving in a "no traffic zone" because we missed a turn. No one stopped us & we finally found... More

We have no complaints about iL Riccio but question whether it deserves the "Excellent" rating given by most reviewers. Somehow some have elevated it to the status of a Palace - which in English terms it certainly isn't. According to "Eyewitness" it would qualify as a Palazzo which is "a townhouse of stature", so if you expect that then you... More

When looking for small towns to visit in Tuscany I did an image search on Google for Multipulchiano. What good fortune it was that one of the aerial shots that came up was from the website for this lovely small hotel. Lodgings at Il Riccio are in the meticulously restored medieval palazzo belonging to Gio and Ivana Caroti who could... More
