Perfect location, lovely old building, smallish but comfortable and well cleaned rooms, simply fit our needs exactly. One highlight is certainly the roof terrace - perfect for an evening bottle of wine, just sitting and relaxing. Only problem - the air conditioning is perhaps a little too enthusiastic.

Location The Il Riccio is just a few yards off the main square at the top of the town. There is free parking at a car park a few hundred yards away. Like many Tuscan hill towns vehicle access to the centre is very restricted and I'm not sure whether you could temporarily park closer to drop bags off. As... More

My wife and I stayed at this B&B back in the fall of 2003. We pulled into Montepulciano just to visit for the day, but it was such a lovely town we decided to stay the night. We went to the local tourist center and got a list of local B&B's, and then cross-checked that with our Rick Steve's Guide.... More

A big round of applause goes to Meuble il Riccio. This accommodation is the ideal complement to rural Tuscany. We learned of Meuble il Riccio in Rick Steves' Tuscany guidebook and we couldn't have been happier with our three night experience. Our room was comfortable, clean, had air conditioning (often needed in the summer), and a wonderful sweeping view of... More

We spent four days at the Riccio and have only praise for the hotel. The building is beautiful - from the moment you enter the courtyard you know you are in a very special place. The rooms are fine - comfortable with large windows. The public areas are exceptional - especially the main room and the roof top terrace. The... More

We stayed with Gio and Ivana on our most recent trip to Tuscany. Our experience could not have been better. They are consummate hosts, Gio drove down to escort us when we arrived at the city gate, they cheerfully moved us after one night to a room that had become available and had a better view, they both had terrific... If you go to Tuscany, don't miss Montepulciano. And when you go, you must stay with Gio and Ivana at Meuble Il Riccio. They are the most wonderful hosts; it was almost like being part of their family during our stay. The hotel itself is just beautiful and very clean. Our room was quite comfortable, clean, and accomodating with a... More

My wife and I just returned from three weeks in Italy. One of our favorite places to stay was the Meuble Il Riccio in Montepulciano. The service although very professional was very friendly. Ivana and Gio provided wonderful breakfests for us in their tastefully decorated lobby. We enjoyed their hotel, particulary the entrance atrium and their roof terrace. The room... More

Stayed 3 nights here from June 30th to July 2nd and wished it had been longer. As a previous reviewer noted, if you go to the hotel's website, you will get a very good idea of what you will get. The property is very attractive. There are modern features such as air conditioning and a good shower in an old... More

My husband and I stayed two nights in May. We spent almost a month in Italy and this hotel and experience was one of our very favorite. The owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The view from the rooftop is fabulous. Breakfast was wonderful. We were treated like family. We only wish that we had... More
