The hotel was clean, Ivana and Gio helpful, but the best part is the small rooftop that overlooks then countryside and hill town. It was a great place to share a bottle of local wine and Pecorino cheese from Pienza. Gio was great getting us dinner reservations at Griffin d'Oro which was a wonderful choice for us. I think that... More

If you are looking for the true spirit of Tuscany this is the place to stay. We have recommended this hotel to everyone. It was great. Perfect location for day trips into the surrounding areas. Giorgio and Ivana are wonderful. Although the breakfast is not included, it is well worth adding. Ivana makes wonderful pastries (a new one each day)... More

Lovely, family run B&B right off the main square in Montepulciano. My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the common areas are very warm and welcoming and the roof top terrace is awesome! We also hired Gio to tour us around the neighboring villages - great day. Gio... More

Montepuciano is a Tuscan hill town and center for wine business. We stayed at Il Riccio (the hedge hog, which is the mascot of the small B&B). Friendly owners and staff, but dinner recommendation was mediocere. You climb a couple of flights of stairs to get into the hotel and then we had another flight of stairs to get to... More

It's a privilege to stay in one of the 6 rooms at this former monastery. They could have easily taken the several beautiful sitting areas and turned them into rooms, but I'm glad they didn't. See if you can schedule Gio to take you on a tour of the surrounding areas. Be sure to ask him about the Borgias.

Absolutely loved our stay. Ivana, Gio and Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Yummy breakfasts which are a little pricy but filling. Good to get your energy up for the hill climbing. Great location. Staying at Meuble Il Riccio was like being a pampered house guest. I've been to Montepulciano before and will be back again. And when I... More

Montepulciano is like a beautiful little dream. And Il Riccio puts you right in the middle of it. Our room (#5) had a view better than I could imagine. It was spectacular. The room was nice, clean and the hotel was very quiet inside. However, we slept with our window open and listened to some other tourists (outside the inn... More

We were fortunate to spend 3 nights at Meuble Il Riccio in Montepulciano in April, 2010. It is very conveniently located near the square, but very private and quiet. Our room had a balcony which overlooked the streets below and the hilsides in the distance. There are several large areas to sit and relax, as well as a patio upstairs... More

The generous warmth and hospitality of Gio and Ivana at Meuble il Riccio set the standard for accommodation and service on our three-week trip around Italy. The genuine caring of our host and their employees for our experience with them easily overcame the unusually cold and wet weather while there. From the stone and marble arched foyer to the expansive... More

Our family of four ( two adult kids in their mid twenties) all agreed that our stay with Gio and Ivana was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Montepulciano is a wonderful little town, however it was the warm hospitality provided by Gio and Ivana that made our stay so special. The accomodations are lovely, the view divine, and... More
