Meuble il Riccio is absolutely magnificent! The owner is lovely and the inn, located in a historic building has been in the same family for a very long time which I much appreciate. Gio, the owner, has the most pleasant of demeanors and made us feel so welcome! The views from the rooms are flawless and the location of the... More

My father and I just returned from a trip to Tuscany and had the pleasure of staying one night at Meuble il Riccio. We had made no reservations in advance and while looking for a hotel in Montepulciano, we stumbled upon this true Tuscan gem, centrally located off the Grand Piazza. We were astounded at the price for a room... More

The night we spent in Montepulciano at Mueble Il Riccio was magical. The B&B is housed in a historic building that has been owned by Gio (the owner)'s family since 1200s. The building is situated right behind the main piazza, easily accessible from the shuttle bus that runs from the train station through town. Gio and his family have created... More

Walking into this place for the first time (and every subsequent time) was such an experience! A stunning building beautifully maintained, we loved it! It's just a few steps off the main piazza, though Montepulciano doesn't seem to actually use its piazza too much - the 'life' of the town is its main street, the Corso, which starts about 5... More

Montepulciano was the highlight of our trip to Italy. The town itself is gorgeous and mueble il riccio put our experience over the top. The owners, Gio and family, are very nice, always a genuine friendly smile on their face. Our stay here was probably the best hotel experience I've ever had. It wasn't necessarily just the room, it was... More

The hotel was built in 1200 and owned by Gio's family since 1860. Located on the high point of Montepulciano, our room had a wonderful view of the Tuscan countryside. We arrived in the midst of a centuries old festival, Bravia delle Botti, which caused a lot of congestion due to the number of people attending. Gio guided us to... More

This was our favorite spot in our two week central Italy vacation. Meuble il Riccio is right off the main Piazza Grande and a convenient walk to restaurants, cafes, and wine tasting shops. Ivana was spot on with recommendations. We had room # 33…very spacious and with an incredible view from the balcony. We were lucky enough to catch a... More

We stayed at Meuble il Riccio on Rick Steve's recommendation, and we were certainly not disappointed. Montepulciano is a Tuscan gem, and Meuble il Riccio is a real diamond! It is at a great location, not far from the main square. The building is fascinating, a former monastery that has been in owner Gio's family for 8 generations. The word... More

A superior room had an equally excellent view over Montepulciano rooftops, whether lying in bed or sitting on the loo. Excellent location and friendly owners. Airy decor with some curious touches, like a creepy clay clown in the bathroom. Comfortable bed, colourful shower, but pretty dreary breakfast for 8 euros supplement.

Staying at the Meuble il Riccio is truly a "life experience!" We were fortunate enough to stay in one of the 2 rooms with a private balcony at the very top of GORGEOUS Montepulciano, and the memory of the indescribable view will be with us forever!
