Had a good stay here, our second time visiting. Local food is amazing, there is a supermarket across the road and a pizza shop up the hill towards town. Room had a good views. Staff are friendly and helpful.

This hotel is strange it has a lot of good points and a lot of bad points. Having said that I do not know the level of the other hotels in Montepulciano. Pro's- The hotel is clean, bedrooms have a lovely Tuscan view's, guests have reserved parking (which is badly needed),the staff and owner are ever so nice and it... More

My experience of the Hotel Granducato was a rather pleasant one. I give it a "very good" rating while keeping firmly in mind that this is a 3-star hotel. 3-star hotels need to be compared with other 3-star hotels so one must not expect the luxury and decor associated with hotels of a higher category. I met with the Director... More

This is certainly not a must hotel. It's one of the most indifferent hotels in one of the most different towns. The contrast could not be bigger. Montepulciano is a wonderful place. The hotel is not. It has one redeeming feature though. It is close to the bus station. Thus, if you need to take the bus to get in... More

We found this hotel just by driving around in Montepulciano searching for a place to stay the night. The staff were very friendly and we received a very nice room with balcony and a view over the walley. The room was very average with a double bed, a clean nice batch room. There was a mini bar which in fact... More

Our GPS had a bit of trouble finding the the Granducato hotel, and when we did arrive, our initial impression was that the receptionist really couldn't be bothered with us. Our room was big, with its own balcony but very basic. The bed was a queen size, and comfortable enough, unfortunately the shower was very small (hardly big enough to... More

The Hotel Granducato was close to the bus station and easy to find. Our room was spacious and clean, and we had a balcony overlooking the lovely surrounding countryside. The hotel is just outside the old city walls within easy walking distance to the old city. Breakfast was good. Overall a good place to stay.

We stumbled on this hotel whilst searching for a parking space in Montepulciano. The hotel, located just outside the confines of the old town, has a limited number of free parking spaces at the front so we bagged one and decided to make this hotel our base for two nights. Sadly this added some stress to our visit. Not only... More

Recently I traveled to Rome to visit my friend who teaches English there as a second language. On my flight to Rome from Miami I read an article about the town in Italy, Montepulciano, where they had filmed the second Twilight movie, “New Moon”. My friend and I had planned on taking an overnight trip and so we decided we... More

I does not take too long to see that the efforts to keep Hotel Granducato updated have not been too successful. This was most evident at the bathroom, that looked exactly like what it was: a bathroom from the seventies. On the other hand, rooms were clean, with plenty of sunlight and generous in size. The air conditioning unit looked... More
