L'Olmo is one of those places you experience where you leave feeling incredibly relaxed, happy, inspired and simply just wanting to return as soon as you can! L'Olmo has recently undergone an extensive renovation where no detail has been spared in making sure the stay is absolute luxury and comfort. The new website is not yet up - and when... More

We found L'Olmo by coincident - and how lucky we were. The location is flawless, in the heart of Unesco protected Val d'Orcia with its stunning landscape and close to villages such as Pienza, Monticchiello and Montepulciano. But it's the rest that really makes this place a true gem for our little family. The property is fantastic with its charming... More

During the last years we have travelled all around Tuscany, staying at the best hotels; recently we had the opportunity of spending some time also at l'Olmo: it was a unique experience, because here we have found all the best elements of this magic Italian region combined together in a really virtuous way. At the arrival at L'Olmo we felt... More

We just heard from friends that L' Olmo, near Pienza, had just been renovated and upgraded to a Relais type of hospitality experience. We checked their website but it said "under construction", and we decided to give it a try anyway. We called and found out that the hotel has just reopened in May, we were going to be among... More

We stayed here sept 2012 it was absolutely perfect, good accommodation opening onto the garden and lovely fields beyond. We were the only ones staying here, the rest of Tuscany was all booked up ! We loved having our breakfast served outside our room and having the pool to ourselves . Will probably go back sometime however we felt that... More

We loved L'Olmo. It was quiet, subdued and charming. The scenery was spectacular. In the early morning we would get up and walk the quiet road in front, just taking it all in - then relax with a coffee, etc. and watch the day begin to unfold. The rooms were well kept up and the service was very, very good.

L'Olmo is an original inn on a pilgrims trail now converted to offer understated but luxurious accomodation under the auspices of Signora Lindo and her team of two.Lovely large pool, excellent breakfast and views all around of what many people would consider the ultimate Tuscan scenery including the town of Pienza on top of a neighbouring hill. The nearest village... More

L'Olmo is a serene country inn located in the peaceful countryside near the charming medieval village of Monticchiello. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and a delicious breakfast is served. The owners are wonderful. Ideally situated to explore the nearby towns of Montepulciano and Pienza, as well as Monticchiello. This is my favorite part of Italy, the Val d'Orcia. The whole... More

La bandita was completely full and we couldn't extend our stay so we moved here for 1 night before heading back to Rome. I'm sure l'olmo is perfectly beautiful and relaxing to many people but I found it somewhat stressful and uncomfortable. Our room was on the ground floor and didn't get much of a breeze. There was no air-conditioning... More

This is my husband and my second stay at L'Olmo. We stayed at L'Olmo about five years ago and I actually loved it more this time, which I really did not think was possible. It is absolutely serene, romantic, and elegant. The location is perfect - between Montalcino and Montepulciano (2 excellent wine towns). When my luggage went missing for... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
L'Olmo is a small hotel de Charme in the heart of Val d'Orcia. An ancient farmhouse from XVII century, placed on the top of a gentle hill overlooking one of the most beautiful Tuscany valley. L'Olmo has been renovated in its interior and exterior designs, furniture, wall colours, hydro systems, air-conditioning and strong Wi-Fi. Surrounded by a green garden rich of plants as roses, geraniums, olive and cypress trees, L'Olmo offers a heated pool (12x8mt) equipped with all necessary to sunbathe all day long enjoying the stunning view of the hills all around and little paradise spots where to sit for a light lunch or a snack by the pool. Hidden beside the pool you will find a romantic Pergola, where the shadow will recover you after a sunny day; tables and chairs are there for breakfast or candle light dinners. A cosy courtyard with sofas and armchairs accompany you to the interior of the house. The Billiard room is the main common area of the whole house. A stoned fireplace surrounded by velvet sofas, a furnished library with books and antiques then the billiard room, with chessboard and the grand Cannon Carambola table. By the sofa area, you will find also a projector where to enjoy a good movie or sports events. Still on the ground floor is the dining room for breakfast in the morning and dinners at night. The dining room respects the country style of the house: light colours for tables and chairs fabrics, white linen for the tables. Three Suites are on the ground floor, each with private garden with roses and climber grapevine Pergola, sunbathe bed chairs and tables for room-served breakfasts. The other four Suites are on the first floor: two can be connected and become a large apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a common living room with sofa bed and fire-place. The grandest room of the house is "Suite Olmo" composed by a double bedroom with bathroom, common living room with fireplace and a smaller bedroom with single bed and private bathroom. The most scenery room of the house is for sure the "Library Suite"; it was the original Granary room for the old farmhouse and offers a 180° view on the countryside with a spectacular bricked wall which illuminates the high ceiling room (4 mt). Each room is equipped with satellite tvs, safes, air-conditioning/heating; beds are covered by romantic canopies, wear cotton satin linens and have comfortable mattress (most of them are Simmons, except two special sized) Bathrooms have bathtubs and grand shower stull with powerful shower heads. Equipped with professional hairdryer, courtesy service with an Argan line of soaps and cremes, soft terry towel and bathrobes; from most of the bathrooms you can enjoy the marvellous view that L'Olmo offers form every side. The location is central with the most beautiful cities of Tuscany renaissance and is the ideal place to enjoy the nature, the peace and beauty of the Val d'Orcia and, last but not least, thanks to the special colours and lights of the landscape, it is perfect for photography lovers. ... more   less
