My husband and I visited in October 2014 on a really sunny week when we had been told that the weather had been awfully wet up until that point. What a wonderful hotel - faded Italian splendour but with a classical art deco twist. Lovely little architectural features scattered around the hotel. The hotel is opposite a few acres of... More

Visited Oct 5th 2014 with Newmarket. Good value holiday! Hotel was in a good location for Terme and Alto (short walk to funicular railway). The hotel is in need of refurbishment in places but the staff are lovely; very friendly and helpful. The food varied; and as per another reviewed=r the Brits were segregated from the other diners, whose food... More

The art deco entrance suggests good times but the hotel is a little jaded. There was dust in the public areas and bedrooms a little tired.Luigi the barman was a bundle of fun and very helpful.Be prepared for Tuscan food not international Italian. It offers a base for exploration without any frills.I was unhappy that Those from Newmarket Hols were treated... My husband and I stayed in this hotel as part of the Newmarket coach tour September 2014. We had a twin bedroom, which was very clean and a huge bathroom with jacuzzi. We had also paid for a balcony, which was accessed through the bathroom and was really small. An obliging cleaner sought a spare chair so that we could... More

Me and my partner Phil have just returned we had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is not modern but is clean the food is better than you would expect and the staff are friendly and obliging would go back again. The art deco in the hotel is quirky and must have been amazing in its heyday well done Newmarket... More

Negative: paid extra for a 3-bed room because we wanted separate beds, when they noticed we arrived with 2 people they tried to place us in a cheaper 2-bed room without refund. After objecting we had to wait for 1 hour in a very hot, non airconditioned, lobby and finally got the room we paid for. AC on the room... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting few italian cities. Hotel was great, room a bit old fashioned (not in a good way, although I love retro style), food was ok, but the area was to die for, like in a fairytale!

We stayed here in May on a Newmarket package holiday. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are very friendly and anxious to please. Our room was small but adequate for our needs. We enjoyed the meals which were plentiful and varied. Why do people travel to Italy and expect English meals? The location of the hotel is superb and... More

It seems a very busy hotel good atmosphere.,. But the rooms are very dated ,rather noisy .the food was satisfactory as long as you have a good lunch. The breakfast was a roll, cheese, ham, and cereal, good staff

If you are looking for a faceless modern pristine hotel, then this is not for you. The hotel is old, quirky and full of character. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Food is plentiful and varied. Our room is huge, jacuzzi bath, wet bar and balcony. Yes, it could do with a lick of paint but it is clean and full... More
