Nice location: main SPAs, a park, and numerous cafes and restaurants are nearby. Some of the most friendly staff we have ever met. They did everything to make our stay pleasant. We like the rooms in the modern style and not very much in the old one.

Really excellent staff and lovely friendly ambience . Food in the evening was matched by breakfast; wholesome, plentiful and delicious. Perfect location in the town. Montecatini has a faded elegance although there are signs that efforts are being made to bring things closer to their former glory. Ideal base to visit Mountains above Pistoia, and the cities of Lucca, Pisa... More

Stayed there with the wife and kid for 4 days and 4 nights. The staff is more than polite and I have only praise for that portion of the experience. The building requires some maintenance, but none of it diminishes the impression of a really good hotel. If you need a good starting point to view Tuscany, I really recommend... More

Stayed at the Hotel Nizza et Suisse three nights in mid-June with a Go Ahead tour of Tuscany. We used it as a base for day trips to northern Tuscany, and Florence. The hotel was 'ok' - nothing was outstanding, but nothing really was bad either. The hotel is a little shabby in some areas, and could use a little... More

Stayed here for 3 nights with 55 others on a group tour of northern Italy. Large property with a good sized lobby, friendly staff, and large dining room where we had a well appointed buffet breakfast each morning. Nice stores/shopping close by. Cute fountain across the street and carousel down the block. ATM about 2 blocks away. Room was nicely... More

First impressions. Very bad. They put us in room 401. Absolutely disgusting. Went down and complained and was told they would move me next day. There is a vile smell in the room. A chemical smell which frightened me and my families safety. This was typical, stick the family of 4 in a crap room. If they complain move them... More

Vinegar-smelled towels in the room. Bad Wi-Fi connection. The worst thing is a waste water treatment and the bathtub position. When I was taking a shower, the water from the shower nozzle wasn't flown to the overflow, soaking on the floor, and launching to the carpet beyond the bathroom door finally. So, my foot or shoes were always soaked on... More

We stayed here for ten nights and we could not have chosen better. It was central for the town, restaurants and trains to Florence etc. staff very friendly and amenable. We were upgraded and had a spacious and comfortable room and on leaving were assigned another room so that we could check out at 6pm. Breakfast was good with excellent... More

This hotel has potential, but is is need of renovation, especially with regards to some of the bathrooms. Although our bathroom was nicely done, others in our group were not as fortunate. We had a corner room, which had windows on two walls, adding to it's feel of light and spaciousness. However, as we discovered, not all rooms are the... More

Montecatini is a charming spa town perfectly located to explore all of Tuscany's many delights. Slightly unloved a decade ago when we last visited, it now appears to be experiencing a welcome renascence with many of the older buildings being renovated. The location of the hotel is excellent. It sits on the quiet Viale Giuseppe Verdi but is only a... More
