Stayed in this hotel for a week in June. Hotel is old, but very comfortable. We were lucky enough to have a view over the fountain in the main street, although unlucky enough to still be there when England where beaten by Italy. Locals kept us awake all night beeping there car horns. Nice hotel, we have stayed in better,... More

I stayed at the Grand Plaza as part of a coach tour of Tuscany in September 2012. The hotel is beautiful, located on the main piaza in Montecatini Terme. Those used to modern hotels belonging to major chains which are the same the world over need a little time to get adjusted to the charms of this grand old Dowager... More

This hotel is right on the main city square and the rooms are very noisy. If it isn't the tourist crowd noise, the evening rock concerts, the birds which nest in a large tree near the front of the hotel, then you get to hear the bar entertainment coming from the interior courtyard. I was staying there as part of... More

This hotel is faded splendour but forgiveable. We stayed for 10 days in early Sept in a room overlooking the Plaza. The hotel is elegant but tired however the staff are excellent from the front desk to housekeeping. The rooms are clean and tidy, the food is well cooked and ample with adequate choice. Whilst noise may be a problem... More

staff very helpful and welcoming. We were staying on a half-board basis, breakfast suited us as we are not fans of 'fries' Dinner was okay, some of the choices were not great, but you would not starve. Well located hotel, not far from the train station with plenty of bars and resturants around.

it is vital you get the rooms overlooking the plaza. we had a large room 221. a lot of the other rooms overlook noisey bars.Even plaza rooms get a dawn chorus from the many birds in the trees surrounding the plaza, so earplugs allow you to lie in. the hotel is in a great position the meals are good and... Nicely decorated and retaining many original features of a centuries old building. It took a couple days to fully appreciate the fine enchantment of a grand hotel. Not your modern new build at all but instead enjoy the high ceilings, the original marble stairs and pillars, find the original carved animal head on the end of the banister rail, marvel... More

We stayed here in August and it was a wonderful hotel which we could not fault. The food was excellent and the staff were so helpful and kind. Our room was spacious and had a full sized fridge. The bed was huge and so comfortable, also nice bathroom with shower. The air conditioning was a God send because the temperatures... More

My wife and I have just returned from Italy staying one week at the Grand Plaza/Locanda Maggiore Hotel in Montecatini. We had a lovely welcome, completed the check in and given the key to our room. The room was quite large with plenty of storage, a bar and television unfortunately redundant as there were no english speaking channels. The bathroom... More

Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with a Gate 1 tour. Our room was very large as was the bathroom. Both with nice storage. We were on the first floor with a balcony over looking a public square and bar. Much to our surprise music began nightly at 10 pm and went until midnight. If you do plan to... More
