Once a again we stayd at the first Grand Hotel in Montecatini, also known as the famous Giuseppe Verdi´s favoured homestead in town. Great service and fine food. We had an ½-pension agreement for 4 nights and what an surprise. Every day we could choose amoung various first and main dishes and here were delights for every tongue. Don`t forget... More

Just returned from one week stay with Travel Department Ireland. Really loved the Hotel very comfortable and fantastic food. Best of all= The Waiter Mariano Wilson, he is the most courteous efficient and friendly waiter that I experienced on my trip to Tuscany. I would really recomend this Hotel.

My husband and i are just back from Travel Department trip to Italy. Stayed in a superb hotel in Montecatini called Grand Plaza Maggiore. I must say it was like stepping back in time when we entered the hotel and especially the lovely Dining Room we had dinner in each night. The staff were so welcoming and attentive and could not... Montecatini was the second stop on our tour. This hotel was in a great location right in a piazza with lots of shopping and restaurants. Our room was clean but certainly need updating; bedding, beds & furniture all need to be replaced. Bathroom was very dark with a horrible tiny shower that was encased with just a shower curtain and... More

On a recent holiday in Tuscany region, my wife and I stayed in The Grand Plaza Hotel Monte Catini. It was a most pleasant sojourn and the hotel was excellent in every respect except for the provision of but one small elevator. The service in the dining-room was very good and one waiter in particular, was simply wonderful. His name... More

My husband and I stayed for two nights with Cosmos tours. We noticed mildew on the walls and in bathroom. Furniture out of date. Shower barely worked. Constantly heard running water coming down the inner wall (must have been a pipe there). Room was very hot; no fans and air conditioner did not work. Had to leave the windows open.We... More

I stayed in the Grand Plaza for a week in August 2014 and could not fault it.The location in the town centre was fabulous. It was literally a few hundred metres from the shops and the railway station where there was a regular train service to Florence which was about an hour away. The hotel itself was old fashioned but... More

Rooms were clean but furniture very old . Most of the staff very helpful until we had a bottle of wine in the courtyard and told we could not drink it there (despite being patrons of the hotel) because there was a bar in the room next to us and all wine needed to be purchased there !!! I've never... More

Also not forgetting Wilson who had a friendly smile at all times, the hotel is very central, old but very clean, drinks in the bar were large and not... More
