Stayed at this hotel this week, and sorry to say what a sad hotel. It is place near the main area of Montecatini and could be very nice if a little work was put into it. The decor certainly leaves a lot to be desired, though the bed linen was clean. The bathroom was very compact and cleanish. As I... More

This is one of the hotels used by National Holidays in the Montecatini Terme (Tuscany) area. The rooms are dated and the air conditioning, when they turn it on, is mediocre at best. The first night we were there we opened the windows to air out the room. The area had experienced thunderstorms that day and the rooms were stuffy.... More

My husband and I decided on a weeks break with National Holidays to Montecatini. We weren't told the name of the hotel until we arrived.. now I know why. We arrived late evening and herded into the dining room with the rest of our party. Our starter was soup with hard vegetables think it was out of a tin this was... More

This was our resort accommodation for this trip. Dated and tired accommodation, lights not securely fixed to walls did not bode well. On the plus side the continental breakfasts were more than adequate, there was constant hot water, the towels were fresh daily, and the safe key was free (only a deposit needed). The dinner was basic, and uninviting. Overall... More

It was pretty average. Rooms were pretty basic and old style. The good points are free wifi and the fact that funicolare, market and the restaurants are at a stone's throw. Staff were also helpful. Bad points pretty basic food, old style rooms and no towels!

Just 2min walk. Though said to be 3 star but absolutely not. Room was small and old but toilet seemed renovated. The place for shower was not properly designed and less than 2sq ft. Breakfast was however quickly refilled but very limited choice. Counter staff were helpful. wifi only at lobby and poorly connected as free of charge. There was... More

We came to this hotel on our natinal holidays trip last week and it was not a pleasant stay what so ever. We were crammed in the dining area for dinner like sardines, waited forever for three measly pieces of pork and a few chips and then had to pass salad bowls down the queue like school children would, the... We stayed here on our National Holidays Rome and a taste of Italy tour. The reception area was lovely and clean spacious and welcoming. However the rooms were tiny, grubby and bizarrely decorated in bright colours. The tv was about 30 years old, hairdryers were either broken, patched with elasterplast or non existent. No tea/coffee facilities in the room. Dinner... More

We soon discovered that the hotels in Montecatini are divided in two very distinct categories - expensive tranquil spas and budget priced older hotels that really are just dormitories for tours around Tuscany. Once you get your head round that, the Byron really is a very acceptable base. It's super clean and the staff are delightful and very helpful -... More

I have recently returned from this hotel where I went with a bus party. The hotel itself was quite nice, but the food was something else. We were told the courses would not be as we would normally expect, but to get sausage roll with soggy spinach for the main course or escalopes with brussel sprouts was going a bit... More
