There’s an ongoing discussion on Tripadvisor whether to stay in Venice proper or in Mestre. If you’re on a budget and don’t mind commuting to Venice every day, choose Hotel Piave. Location is great – a short walk from the train station, in a quiet alley. Bus stop is around the corner and vaporetto pass is valid on the bus... More

Stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is on the mainland and is about 10 minutes away from the main city and attractions but does require a bus/train or taxi to sight see. Mestre is a small town, with some great cafes and restaurants and the train station is about a 10 minute walk from hotel. Don't get confused with... More

We didn't choose this hotel it was chosen for us through a 'mystery getaway' therefore the deal was cheap. This hotel met it's purpose as we slept here and got a breakfast both mornings. It is clean. There is nothing to do there and I wouldn't recommend people to go here unless you were short of cash. I won't be... More

Arriving after midnight the Hotel Piave looked nice from the outside, entrance and reception, nice as well. Staff were relatively friendly. Room..... well, ummm where do I start.... it was dirty, in need of a good renovation, the bathroom was the size of a closet (picture). The room was small enough to house a mouse tea party (there were however... More

Stayed here for 4 nights. There were 8 of us. Great location, crisp white linen and fluffy towels. We were all dreading going but absolutely nothing to worry about. Breakfast lovely. If being ultra picky one of the male receptionists is a bit like Alf Garnet but hardly saw him. I would recommend staying here if wanting a value for... More

Stayed here for the second time recently on our return trip to beautiful Venice. This is a good hotel near to Meastre station, which gets you into Venice Santa Lucia in about 10 minutes. The staff are friendly, the breakfast buffet is good, however Hotel Piave, it's time for a makeover! Our room was very small and dark with old... More

I stayed in this hotel for two nights. The room was beautiful, provably recently renovated, but the air conditioning was not working and the Internet was very poor. The room was at street level so opening the windows was not an option. We also had mosquitoes. Overall not happy.
