Stayed at Hotel Plaza from 11/09-11/11/09 with family. The hotel was located by the train station. We travelled into Venice by the bus that stopped in front of the hotel. stayed here for 4 nights in october, rooms spotless and were cleaned everyday. breakfast is typical european but as there isn't many restaurants nearby it was suitable. train station is striaght across the road and beings you straight to venice for €1.00 and only takes 10mins.trains leave every 10mins. ideal location. not much to do in mestre as it is... more

Had a very good three night stay here. Staff were very helpful. Room was spotless with an excellent shower. Bedroom and bathroom windows could be opened - often not the case. Breakfast was very good - eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, fruit, cakes................You helped yourself to teas, coffee and fruit juices. Our one complaint (trivial) was the bread rolls. We have just stayed there for visiting Venice. It´s cheaper to stay at the city of Mestre, from where you can reach Venice by train ( 1 euro ). Plaza Hotel is JUST in front the train station, you save in taxi, and for about 80 euros / day ( at the time ) we stayed at the best hotel... more

Great location for viisting Venice but we had a bad experience on our return from Venice as we did not have our ticket stamped- so make sure you have you ticket stamped on the platform before you board the train. Situated across from the train station which was ideal - 10 mins into Venice. We were also able to go from the station there directly to Florence.
