The hotel was clean but very basic. Our room was dingy, but was good enough to have as a base. It was not as noisy as I expected from other reviews, but that was probably because it was the end of the season. I wouldn't particularly want to stay there again, but considering what we paid for the 5 days,... more

Have just returned from a 5 day trip with bargin basement prices to be pleasantly surprised! Room very clean, plenty of hot water, shower good, bidet in shower strange but hey ho!! Gino morer like a German, than Italian! but apparently had a bad experience with english once! The breakfast basic, but could have extras if prepared to pay. If... more

Just back from a 10 day stay at the Hotel Modena. The Hotel was clean, that was the only plus. Our room was dark and very noisy at all times of the day and night. We had only booked bed & breakfast thank goodness. The Breakfast menu never changed the whole time we were there. On the plus side we... more

Clean basic room but no air conditioning or fan made things quite uncomfortable. Very grumpy / surly owner who looked very angry at being asked any questions - although I think this maybe a language barrier thing as he seemed much friendlier with the German residents than with the English? From 6am each morning expect to be awoken by the... more

If you like to sleep during the silent hours just forget it, the noise from the never ending traffic on foot and the emptying of bins containing bottles from the bars is endless. The proprieter makes basil faulty look good although basil has some manners. more

We stayed in Hotel Modena for two nights after cycling in the Pinarello race in Treviso. We wanted to chill out and liked the look of Malcesine so opted on Hotel Modena for its location in town and price. At 60 euros per night for B&B we were not sure what to expect but we had a good sized room,... more

Mention Basil Faulty to friends and they laugh and smile, but actually staying in his hotel is not a laughing matter. May be you could see the funny side of Geno's rude manner and canteen dinners if you actually got enough sleep while staying here but as the evening hubbard goes on to midnight and the morning road sweeper gives... more

This is the first hotel review I have ever written despite having travelled a lot over the last few years. I felt compelled to write this review because of the fantastic service and great value for money Hotel Modena offered. The hotel was in the best location possible; right by the lake. The rooms and bathroom were really spacious, clean... more

We stayed at the hotel in the middle of August. It was in a wonderful location, seconds from the lake and a wonderful view. However, the manager was such an unwelcoming presence.I have stayed in a huge range of hotels all over the world and have never encountered such indifference and lack of hospitality... It didn't spoil our holiday but could... more
